His passing ability and confidence still blows my mind. Them low, drilled, flat balls he plays through the smallest of gaps to break lines when the recipient is out of shot and the margin for error low - my favourite thing about watching city.
Replacing these kind of performances will be impossible, unfortunately they've been rare this season.Superb performance, for his haters, be careful what you wish, replacing this guy is the summer will be almost impossible and the likes of Costa a downgrade.
We need to be keeping him anyway, sadly I think he is off, going to be a huge task to replace him for sure.Replacing these kind of performances will be impossible, unfortunately they've been rare this season.
He was brilliant last night - if he could play this way every match everyone would be desperate to keep him im sure.
I get that and I'd like to think its in the moment hyperbolic takes that lead to the majority of comments like that but guess there's always extremes. Its more the point scoring nature of the posts where my issue is. It feels a little like he's had a good performance so I've been right all a long and he hasn't been below the required standard.I think he's referring to the dumb cunts on here that say he doesn't make saves and not the reasonable people that say he hasn't been at his usual level.
Definitely feels like better the devil you know of the back of that performance in particular. The goalkeeper market doesn't half feel a Russian roulette.Superb performance, for his haters, be careful what you wish, replacing this guy is the summer will be almost impossible and the likes of Costa a downgrade.
He’ll only be replaced if he wants to go.Definitely feels like better the devil you know of the back of that performance in particular. The goalkeeper market doesn't half feel a Russian roulette.
I do think a lot of his issues this season are mental as opposed to being "past it" so I wouldn't be against a year or two more if his head and heart is in it. I think it would make even more sense if we get a younger no.2 with the plan for him to take over when Ederson does decide to leave. He’ll only be replaced if he wants to go.
Pep has always said if a player wants to go and the correct money is on the table they can.
I do think it explains some of his dip’s & absences this season.
A true City and although I’d love to see him stay I hope it works out best for both parties.
If not confident on getting an established number 1 Ortega will get it with someone competing in my opinion.
I was going to pop on because I have been critical of him, to fairly praise him. He won't be impossible to replace though, a keeper who consistently saves shots at his goal will be a lovely sight.Superb performance, for his haters, be careful what you wish, replacing this guy is the summer will be almost impossible and the likes of Costa a downgrade.
I’m sure Ned Ludd said a similar thing after he’d smashed a stocking frame to pieces in the late 18th century.I was going to pop on because I have been critical of him, to fairly praise him. He won't be impossible to replace though, a keeper who consistently saves shots at his goal will be a lovely sight.
Kasper schmeichel said:What I'd counter that with is the way #ManCity have pressed has been because any ball over the top, he [Ederson] is out so he's stopped a one-vs-one before it's happened."And when you talk about adding something to the team, when they've been at their best in pressing - trust me I've been on the end of a few of these - you feel suffocated and with us [Leicester], our out-ball was [Jamie] Vardy a lot, [we] couldn't because Ederson would just chest it down and pass. So in the game, the one-vs-one wouldn't happen a lot."That's why for me, Ederson brought something slightly different in the sense he didn't even need to keep goals sometimes because he'd stop it at source and was so brave in his starting position, high; it meant he could press..."
"I remember playing against him for Leicester; #ManCity was the one team we didn't press because if you'd press Ederson, he'd just find David Silva or [Kevin] De Bruyne - he'd play these ridiculous passes..."
