President Trump

I hear ya, but neither the couch fucker nor the south african nazi are nearly as charismatic. Trump, like all cult leaders, has a charisma that for some unknown reason, people gravitate to. Vance is a little bitch and musk is a fucking weirdo, so I don't see them being nearly as successful.

Hope so.
I worry for people who find Trump charismatic though.

I mean, seriously, what is the fucking point of this tedious nonsense? It’s like Tuesday is tariff day and Thursday is no tariff day. And voters prior to the election were captured on film saying they liked Trump’s economic policy. Fucking Krusty the clown had a better grasp of economics.

I mean, okay we had Truss but we did pit her against a lettuce which as a test for deciding leadership competence has a 100% success rate. Trump vs a mango would be a ratings winner. Although, we may have difficulty telling them apart.
+1
Pretty insanely stupid to keep threatening tariffs - the uncertainty it's creating in the market - even if the tariffs ultimately don't materialize - is already causing economic damage.

As for why Trump is threatening tariffs - he presumably thinks they're a good thing for the US. Moreover, he's a bully and he thinks that threatening tariffs will result in negotiating leverage - whereas in fact it strains foreign relationships, generates unnecessary economic uncertainty and likely hurts economic negotiations.

And the reason that Trump isn't following through on most of his tariff threats is that each time he proposes new tariffs the stock market goes down, his ratings go down and he gets a bunch of bad press.

In short - expect tariff threats to continue! Because Trump is a bully and a fucking idiot!

This is an excellent summary of the current gop leadership.

Again another cuppa and another thought about where the world is heading. Again not sure exactly where to post this.

But have the two 'big dogs' of the world stage basically realised that instead of being in conflict with each other that they're better off being on friendly terms and then they can refocus their efforts on taking what they want rather than basically cancelling each other out.

- Russia could take Ukraine and the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania)
- The US could take Greenland and Canada
And I guess China could take Taiwan.

As long as they don't have conflicting interests then I don't see why the above can't happen if the US leave NATO.
Is this the 'New World Order' which has been spoken about in recent times?

No he won’t sign the mineral deal unless Ukraine sign a ceasefire at same time, utter ****
If one was to sign a ceasefire agreement and then break it what is the punishment? Is it war :-)

When you have a country that breaks international law and invades a sovereign state one wonders whats the point of agreements.

I haven't actually read anything about that sort of broad change. It was honestly just my thoughts in the moment.

I'd looked at a map of the old Soviet Union, looked which counties would be easiest for Russia to take next if they were going westwards and the Baltic States plus Moldova would be the obvious ones.

(I guess counties like Georgia and some of the 'stans would also be there for the taking although I don't know how they now align with China so maybe not.)

Then the countries Trump has mentioned. And quite possibly the most likely one of the lot China taking Taiwan.

I'm sure there's lots of books (1984 as already mentioned.) fiction and non fiction that deal with this topic. If I'm thinking about it then someone a lot smarter than I am would've been writing about this a long ago.

Any film, book or game suggestions along that line would be welcomed if anyone knows any.

Putin idolises Peter the Great and is a confessed slavophile. He wants the return of a soviet empire; any other bullshit he peddles, about NATO expansion, about de-nazifying Ukraine, is exactly that, bullshit.

His intentions should be obvious to everyone other than mouth-breathers.

Well yeah of course most know that.

I'm talking about what could happen now, not just about what someone desires.

There's a fundamental difference now. A year ago no-one realistically thought he could achieve his aims. Yet now it seems a lot more likely to happen.

Putin was always trying to hold out until after the US elections - hoping for a Trump victory. It was pretty obvious even a year ago that this was the case.
