No - just watch the next game. Focus on Lewis. Obviously you won't get the camera angles and full view of his play - but if you focus on him - keeping in mind my criticisms - you'll be able to form an unbiased view.

One caveat is that if the game you watch Lewis is one where he's not under pressure - well then, yeah, he's going to perform well. Watch a game where Lewis starts against a top side that's not going to park the bus.
Hopefully he plays when I go in a couple of weeks, I'll watch him if Pep hasn't decided he's as shit as you think.

Knew as soon as he came on City would lose.

At one point Forest had a break and Rico is casually jogging back while Khush is busting a gut to cover the right.

Pep talks him up too much. Probably has a warped sense of ability.

Not to blame today, but he just doesn't do enough. We lose on a regular basis with him in the side.

Slows everything down, makes us vulnerable defensively, opposition targets him no matter who we play, and we all know why that is. Doesn't have any creativity, his finishing is awful, he is slow and weak, with questionable work rate.

Ederson or Gvardiol let Forrest score, but we all know they are world-class, and generally speaking perform at the required level. What has Rico ever done to justify his playing time? Not good enough for a team like us.

They don’t though. Ederson has been completely erratic this season and Gvardiol has been awful for months. Gvardiol is nowhere near world class at the moment.

Eddie has dropped off level wise, but he is still one of the best keepers in the league. He is just not one of the best in the world like he used to. Gvardiol has been the best LB in the league despite not even being a LB. Recently, maybe he hasn't been in his one of the best in the world form in his position, but he would still get in the team of the season if the season ended today.

This lad creates a chance every 3 games(7 in 22 apps) and Pep has him invert to the 10 position. Same amount as Kyle Walker managed this season who played almost half the minutes.
The least passes per 90 of all our defensive players.
Least tackles and interceptions of all our fullbacks
Most dispossessed player in the backline

Genuinely moronic from Pep to play him in the role he does.

I think he has the ability, football wise, but he has no pace and physically he is lacking. Obliviously we can't blame him for his size but he gets pushed about all the time. But as a footballer he's decent.

I thought that Nico off for Kova and Nunes off for Lewis - combined - was totally going to screw us. There went our only midfield defender and our semi-OK right back was replaced by a massive defensive liability.

In the end, this substitution didn't directly cause us to lose - Ederson managed to screw up big time, failing to keep out a routine save on his near post.

As for starting Lewis and talking him up... I think it's just Pep trying to get the best out of Lewis in the current circumstance where we really have no good choice at RB: Nunes is OK, Lewis is the much worse alternative - and Nunes is now starting ahead of Lewis.

Come the summer, we're going to try to sign a top class RB. Lewis might be moved on/loaned out. I doubt that Lewis will feature much if at all next season.

Not in the england squad and that's with some wild calls in defence. Feels a like Pep is on an island a little bit with his belief in Rico.

I think he's fully on an island. I actually can't really think of another team in the PL who would use him. Not good enough for the very tops sides and too much of a luxury/liability for teams further down the league. Also the hybrid role he's being used in (to not very good effect) is making it difficult to see what his true position even is.

Other than all that is he ok ? :-)

He doesnt start for anyone inside the top 12/13 in the league other than us so not that surprising.

Shite today.

A weak little boy who wouldn’t start for any of the other 19 premier league teams and at least 8 championship teams. He’s 5’5 and weights about 8 stone yet he isn’t even fit fast or dynamic an absolute waste of a shirt
It's scary how every opposition winger is able to blow past Lewis as if he's standing stock still.

He had numerous chances to play the likes of Marmoush & Doku through on goal but he can't see them making runs.

If he was playing for any other team in the country like he is playing for us we would have a dedicated thread on him about how bad he is.

He will have a great football career and finish up a millionaire, but he is miles away from being our current level let alone where we want to be.

His stamina is shocking, constantly jogging back. I've said it long enough with the inverted but it seems Pep doesn't have a problem with it or blind to it.
