Not really, as they wear masks.next week! you could at least tell us a bit about the band members ;)
They wear masks, does that count?

Sleep Token had passed me by until a few weeks ago. Heard a couple of tracks on the radio and heard they were headlining Download this summer, so I’ve been exploring.
I’m finding them a bit hit and miss they give me Ghost vibes - some I love some I don’t. Interesting pick!

There is truth in all of that. I have not researched them that deeply tbf, but yea it is a bit of fun and theatre. The British Slipknot, with a bit more production. Nothing really wrong with that, it is not like they are trying to pretend otherwise.Normally this kind of shit really winds me up because I'm a miserable old sod. One of the things that puts me off certain types of metal a bit is that the aesthetic is all a bit too MTG for me. So I was ready to have my hackles raised by this bunch especially with the daft names. However I've softened a bit already, partly because of the video of the frontman when he was younger flogging his services as a piano teacher. He seems like a nice middle class lad who could easily pass himself off as a trainee accountant so what's someone like that to do when it turns out they also have a predilection for prog metal? Dressing up seems like a smart move as it not only creates a bit of theatre you might either not want or be able to have in your own aesthetic, but also allows you to retain your privacy etc. The other reason I'm not minding it too much is, unlike some of the tools involved in black metal, the slightly daft I speak for the trees or sleep monster thing or whatever the lore is, seems like a bit of harmless fun that if it allows them to put on a decent show and the fans like it then fair enough.
Can feel myself warming to this though whether that turns out to be a temporary state of affairs, time will tell.
He thankfully stops doing it.Is the lead singer ok? Very weird pronunciation on ChoChokehold
The Singer is a weak point. While I have listened to a bunch of their songs and off this album, and seen them live, I've never actually listened to an album as a whole.
Have to say, when strung together, the autotune filter is actually annoying as fuck! No need man.
Bon Jovi? The Singer is a weak point.
He tries his best clearly, and he's interesting but he's not got "it".
Bit like the last few albums we've reviewed.
I hope the next person picks a group who has a capable singer.
I see what you did there....Bon Jovi?

Well JBJ in the 80s was definitely one of the best rock singers of his era.
Wishy washy heavy metal is jarring my ears at the mo.It's probably the main thing that's jarring with me atm.
Ha.It has crossed my mind to nominate Beniamino Gigli singing Puccini but I'm guessing that's not what you had in mind?
The only bit of the new AI world I'm looking forward to is when you can press a button and replace a crap singer in a band with Otis Redding's voice.
