President Trump

The one hanging upside down from a lamppost. Hoping something similar happens.

Sorry to be a pedant but it was actually a girder at an under construction petrol station that they hung his and his mistress's bodies from. I know this doesn't move the discussion on at all but it beats responding to some of the bullshit being spouted by some posters on here.

You know responding is never an issue for me.

But for the record, i only argue for whst i agree with not what you think he did.

Again, let me explain how voting works. I vote for ideas i agree with. I understand the administration i vote for may do some things i don't agree with. They may even do some things i agree with but I did not particularly vote for.

So when i argue against anything you say, im not 'defending' Trump. I am pointing out your claim or frame is either wrong or shaky.

If the administration i voted for does something i don't like or didn't support, i don't have ro defend it.

Again, in the aggregate, i prefer this administration to the former and the potential administration of the opponent that lost.

That has not changed. Now, id go back and read your post and respond to your list.
deflection

I asked specifically if you were OK with the things I listed, all of which are not "what I think he did" but a matter of record. I asked this because you said you were ok with how things were going.

Oh and thanks for telling me how voting works, I really appreciate that deep insight

For the third time, you guys see Trump as Hitler, which is why you can’t understand him having good reasons for his actions.

I DO NOT THINK HITLER HAD GOOD REASONS FOR HIS ACTIONS FFS.

I wasn’t praising Mussolini, I was querying whether Trump could be compared to Mussolini because he wasn’t known for his love of small government or peacemaking.
I think you are being misunderstood to be fair.

That said Trump is not just small government. Small fovernment might be assessing properly ways to rddectively and efficiently make a small government. Not just firing people willy nilly. That's just moronic.

Same with the peacemaking. Peacemaking would be working with both sides with some level of sensitivity and appropriateness. Not fucking Ukraine over. That's just dangerous.

If you can't criticise Trump fairly then you are a cult member imo. That's what bugs everyone about Dax777. He will not address the big rocks.

Depends what you mean by ‘getting into bed with Russia’ doesn’t it?

Trump acknowledges that Russia, like all countries, has legitimate security concerns and these should be respected.

He sees Russia as a significant regional power and player on the global stage.

They are influential in the Middle East, have a close relationship with important countries like India and China.

So re-establishing good relations with Russia is a good idea for an American president from a geopolitical standpoint.

Working with them when interests align and disagreeing respectfully when they don’t seems like a common sense approach, especially when you consider the risks associated with conflict between nuclear powers.

Does this constitute being in bed with Russia? I don’t think so.
UN vote.

It’s hard to have a nuanced discussion about anything related to Trump for the reasons I’ve outlined.

I suspect Dax would be more willing to engage in a more open discussion if the other side weren’t so hostile.

It’s a bit like you going on a Liverpool forum and taking part in numerous discussions about City. You’d feel the need to fight your corner and I suspect that you’d very quickly become unpopular.

It’s a bit of a shame but probably in the nature of being on the internet these days.

For the second time, I was referring to the fact that you guys see Trump as Hitler, so are incapable of objectively discussing him. This is so tiresome, I don’t know how Dax does it :)
Some people do. Some don't. So it isn't any kind of a "fact". If you've concluded that it's all of us, that's your mistake, not ours, chief.

You and that gimp don't have much support for your viewpoints here. Once again that is a YOU problem.

Here's my opinion:

Most Presidents, politicians and indeed people are bell curves.

Trump is a roulette wheel, which is why a nuanced discussion isn't only irrelevant, it's ridiculous.

Prove me wrong, and I'm happy to engage.

And you’re living in a country that just elected Trump for a second time, seems to me you also have a YOU problem. A much bigger one.

I concur.

But that doesn't make your arguments about an "echo chamber" any more thoughtful, nor contradict any of mine, so let's stick to the topic it hand.

You have an argument. You can't sell it. Not our fault.

I’m not trying to sell you anything. I’m fine with the thread being mostly anti Trump because it’s largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, just think it would benefit from a different perspective from time to time.

Has this guy been banned yet?

They're far beyond any help. We need our own country free of Trumpanzees and their non existent demented reality at this point.

It'd seem like a bad dream but everyone in America has a 401k/ IRA/ Retirment account tied with the markets and guess what.. they're screwing with that and trying to cover it up.

Remember during Covid Trump wanted to rig the numbers by halting testing because he was looking bad? Remember that? Well this happened recently.

They know the economy is starting to crash and they want to lie about the real numbers and the MAGA idiots will believe anything he tells them.

We can't live with them in hope they change their minds.

There is no changing their minds! It's a cancer and we can only save ourselves.

We seriously need to start thinking about a national divorce at this point..
