President Trump

4 - We fundamentally disagree, no surprise there. What you're advocating for is Ukraine surrender 20% of their country on top of Crimea. Would America do that I wonder

5 - Siding with Russia
2nd, Ukraine is not giving up its resources to America for nothing . Its entering a joint venture to excavate its minerals and share profits. In short, its a backdoor way for America to put boots on the ground next door to Russia while pretending we are not doing it.

Truth is we're not sure what the minerals deal is. It's been reported as that, and it's also been reported as being in repayment for the US aid already given, a sort of retrospective payment. However as far as we are aware there are NO security guarantees, which suggests your boots on the ground is off the mark. Nice theory though

And while we are on the topic of the threat of Russia, why does Europe buy so much energy from Russia? And can you guys work on reducing your dependency on their energy so we could stop funding Putin's military aggressions you claim to hate so much?

Europe doesn't. It did, however In 2023, the EU imported roughly 14.8% of its total gas supply from Russia, with 8.7% arriving via pipelines and 6.1% as LNG, a significant decrease from the 47% share in early 2021. Between early 2022 and the end of 2023, the EU slashed its imports of Russian fossil fuels by 94 percent, from $16 billion per month to around $1 billion per month.

What about America? Shitgibbon is apparently threatening sanctions now against Russia. Why aren't these already in place? Why haven't they been in place for 3 years?

6 -Zelenskyy was set up in the white house fiasco

I believe your view of that meeting to be utterly and completely wrong. It was a set up, all the way to a senate members partner asking Zelenskyy why he wasn't wearing a suit. You talk about Zelenskyy disrespecting Just Dim by calling him JD, what about the disrespect shown to him by the reporter? See also my reply re the build up to the meeting

Out of curiosity... why do you continue to engage with Dax?

because sometimes people need a shove in the right direction. He's coming around, disagrees with 4/10 of the original discussion points
If you think that Dax is "coming around" based on Bluemoon posts - you're sadly mistaken.

Every single one of Dax's insane posts has been met with pushback. Is Dax going to change his mind about Trump because of these posts - past history indicates that he absolutely will not.

While I'm no foreign affairs expert, here's my analysis:

The war has been lost. Ukraine cannot win the war unless Europe, Canada and America jump in with boots on the ground.

Yet, No one wants to do that. Not us, not you, not the other Europeans or Canada. So we are stuck negotiating a ceasefire. Like it or not, the easier party to influence is Ukraine. Why? They are the party in the conflict we are supporting. And when i say we, that includes you too.

Its harder to influence the guy you are not supporting or sending weapons to. This is just common sense

That said, the ceasefire is not on anyone's terms. Its what is necessary under the circumstance. Something Biden and your version of shit gibbon should have done 3 years ago. But to assuage their egos, they let a 100000 young Ukrainian men die fighting a war they couldn't win... That's the travesty here. Trying to evd the wat is not the problem. Continuing it os the problem.

We just have a totally different view on this. There have been no public negotiations with Russia. There would have been none with Ukraine too if some weren't acting like children. That includes Trump by the way. He and Zelensky are actually birds of similar feathers... Egotistical babies.

As for Russia, Trump is now threatening to put sanctions on Russia if they dont come to the table. Again, the U.S. is on Ukraine's side: How do you know this? That's the side they gave money and ammunition to. But for the purposes of ending the war, the U.S has to feign neutrality... Yet some are making those efforts incredibly hard as hell.

2nd, Ukraine is not giving up its resources to America for nothing . Its entering a joint venture to excavate its minerals and share profits. In short, its a backdoor way for America to put boots on the ground next door to Russia while pretending we are not doing it.

I mean, its the same stunt China pulled in Panama until Trump balked against the nonsense and told Panama to kick China out of our area or we'll take the canal back. And Panama did. No Superpower wants other powers at their doorstep. Russia included. But we will be. And the deal ( many here told me didn't exist but has now been signed) would do that

We are about to encroach on Russia but some of you Europeans wont just shut up long enough so we can build a legitimate stop to their aggression in their backyard. Its almost as if you guys want Russia to succeed.

And while we are on the topic of the threat of Russia, why does Europe buy so much energy from Russia? And can you guys work on reducing your dependency on their energy so we could stop funding Putin's military aggressions you claim to hate so much?

Europeans are practically funding both sides of the war... Get your shit together Europe!!

Oh yeah, i want all the smoke :)

No he was not set up... I am happy you brought this up coz I didn't have time to watch it when it happened, but by the time I did, it wasn't worth discussing here anymore.

Lets get some bask facts straight:
1. Whatever you think of the deal, and i get many here dont like it for whatever reason... I don't know 'America bad' or something...

The original minerals deal, or the idea of it was first proposed by Zelensky. Not Trump, not the Americans... Zelensky proposed it.. Granted, his preferred version was in exchange for boots on the ground. Which the American negotiators shut down as a no go.

Ill skip over other shenanigans for now and get to the Whitehouse bit...

Then after weeks of negotiations by his foreign contingent, they (Zelensky's people) and the State department agreed on a deal in principle and the Whitehouse meeting was simply supposed to be a photo op where the principals i.e. Trump and Zelly shake hands, play nice and sign papers.

BUt what did Zely do? Came in with intent to derail and from the start, acted like a right dick. Starts talking as if they are still in negotiations... Brings out pictures of Ukrainian victims and POWs, pretends he is just showing it to Trump but really he flashes each picture to the media forst before handing it over...His whole act was an attempt to sabotage the deal his people had worked to put together. He was argumentative, cut Trump off multiple times, corrected Trump even when his corrections were wrong. His whole act was an attempt at sabotage.

Granted, I think he was boosted by the Democrat Senators he had gone to see earlier who were playing their own internal US politics games and convinced him not to sign the deal his tram negotiated. If you watch the whole interview from start to finish, it was clear Zelly was just trying his best to be an ass. Eye rolling, arm folding, disrespectfully referring to the VP as JD in a heated moment. He was a purposeful disaster.

It is clear to anyone who doesn't have a pre-existing bias against Trump, what Zelly was doing... He was trying hard to be unagreeable all through.

Trump was actually quite good until the end when Zelensky made a threat. For Trump, it seemed he was in "lets sign a deal" mode. So he took all of Zelly's rudeness in stride. Because at the end of it all they were there to simply sign a deal and then have a lunch. The rest was just Photo-op.

Like the young kids like to say, Trump knew the assignment, but Zelensky wasn't about that life.

Finally, a concession... I love JD Vance, and unlike Trump, i will happily and delightedly vote for him if the opportunity presents itself in 4 years. That said, he had no business piping up during that discussion. You are the V.P., when 2 Presidents are talking, sit back and chill out. Its not your place to talk. Be more like Marco. Know your role... Let the Primary:s address each other.

In the end, his outburst was what gave Zelensky the out and what forced Trump into aggressive mode.

Anyway, thats that. Will call it quits for tonight. But im sure there'd be more tmrw.

I'll also revisit 7-10

@KS55 I saw your post, will respond soon.
Sounds great.

Forgive me. I don’t agree with your narrative. And I don’t trust Trump.
I’ll take a back seat and watch how this plays out.
But I’d trust Trump as much as I’d Trust Putin.

On Saturday afternoon 50,000 people will visit the Etihad stadium to watch Manchester City play.
Many will walk past the Tesla garage, twice.

Just sayin'

The amount of extra work for me to arrange exports to the US due to steel tariffs ffs.
Orange ****

As you have probably heard, Trump has implemented a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum. Therefore, from this point forward, we need the invoice to show the material(s) that are used to make the commodities listed on each line so that we can classify the line items correctly with the new HTS codes that will apply.

Please see below for more information. The information required needs to be for each line item.

Steel and Aluminum in Products Classified Elsewhere
Upon reviewing the updated guidance on this, moving forward we will need to report the portion and value of the steel/aluminum portion of any item, even if it is 80% plastic. We will need to report a second HTS line for the steel portion/value and net weight of the steel portion. This means the importer must obtain from the shipper an invoice that provides the value of the item(s), and also provides value/weight of the steel/aluminum portion. Furthermore, we have to report the country of melt and pour (steel) or smelt and cast (aluminum) of the metal. So it would be good to have the vendors add a statement to the invoice that states something along those lines "steel melted poured in China". If the statement is not included we will assume it is the same as the country of manufacture when keying the entry.

Reporting Instructions for Duties Based on Steel Content
For new steel derivatives outside of Chapter 73, the 25 percent duty is to be reported with HTS 9903.81.91 based upon the value of the steel content.
If the value of the steel content is the same as the entered value or is unknown, the duty must be reported under HTS 9903.81.91 based on the entire entered value, and report on only one entry summary line.
In the case where the value of the steel content is less than the entered value of the imported article, the good must be reported on two lines. The first line will represent the non-steel content while the second line will represent the steel content. Each line should be reported in accordance with the below instructions.
Non-Steel content, first line:
• Ch 1-97 HTS, this same HTS must be reported on both lines.
• Country of origin, same must be reported on both lines.
• Total entered value of the article less the value of steel content.
• Report the total quantity of the imported goods.
• Report all other applicable duties, such as IEEPA tariffs and antidumping and countervailing duties.
Steel content, second line:
• Same Ch. 1-97 HTS reported on the first line.
• Same country of origin reported on the first line.
• Report 0 for quantity for the Ch. 1- 97 HTS.
• Report the value of steel content.
• Report the Section 232 duties based on the value of steel content with HTS 9903.81.91.
• Report a second quantity (of the steel content) in kilograms with the HTS 9903.81.91.
• Report all other applicable duties, such as IEEPA tariffs and antidumping and countervailing duties.
Melt and Pour Reporting Requirements
The reporting of the country of melt and pour and applicability code is mandatory for both steel and steel derivatives. To report the country of melt and pour, importers must report the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) code on steel articles and derivative steel articles subject to Section 232. For steel articles, importer must report the ISO code where the steel was originally melted and poured.

I’d take a screenshot if I were you. One of his tricks is to ‘forget’ a line of discussion and delete what he said. He doesn't realize that replies to that post may also be deleted.
He won’t debate fairly, he is not the seeker after truth he pretends to be. I have given up on him.

What’s the problem?!

Tesla is fucked.

Too bad because they make - arguably so - the best electric vehicle.
But also the worst (cybertruck).

Tesla has gone to shit under Musk. The original cars were very good. But the cybertruck is an ego project gone wrong. Musk's idea to make it with an exo skeleton and have that weird sheet metal look. The unconventional construction makes it almost impossible to fix if it gets the slightest ding and as a result its now almost impossible to insure. You can only get Teslas own insurance on them and that will be costing them.

Musk's next big thing is driverless taxis. Who is going to insure those? The roll out is in Texas where the Republican controlled state has bent over backwards to allow them to roll out on the streets. So big question marks over safety. How long before the first law suit?
