Mate I'm slap bang on the halfway line and watched him plenty. He's fucking usless when he is in the mood he was today, if we don't pick him out the first time he sulks like fuck and stands still for the next 10 minutes. He doesn't jump at crosses into the box if not slap bang on his head, he sticks a lazy leg out that the ball bounces off when he actually tries to win it from long balls then let's the second ball bounce away and scowls at whoever is around him. I'd love him to make a run to near post and stick a toe on the ball like he did the first season, just doesn't seem arsed whatsoever. Where's his bullying of defenders gone? Absolute lazy bastard at the moment and you will not convince me otherwise.
 
People on Nico’s back … jeez. The guy has only been here weeks. Give him a chance!!
David Silva was far from impressive in his first season.

Exactly how I feel

Plus, is there really a lot of fight? Are the players going to bed tonight knowing they left it all on the pitch? I'm not sure, and you could never have questioned for a long time until recently.

I don't even mind if we are second best on the day and get beat fair and square as long the players really gave it everything. It's footy, you're gonna lose now and again, no problem.

I'm just watching games like today and not really seeing any real fire or grit, along with just not playing well.
 
Fair result. They worked harder than us and pressed us incessantly. They were quicker to most balls than us and looked more up for the game than we did.

Doku put a real shift in, but end product was lacking.

I think we looked weak in midfield and it almost felt like we were playing with one man less.

They could / should have won it at the end. We can consider ourselves fortunate they didn't take their chance.

Very good turnout from the Brighton fans. Not the loudest (but neither are we), but pretty impressive numbers considering the distance.
 
Pep’s tactic of ‘give it to Doku and hope he produces something’ is criminal. Expecting him to perform miracles over and over again.

Especially when he's never produced anything it really makes no sense.

I agree with your post apart from the dig at Doku. He got to the byline loads and crossed the ball but we had no one running into the box and nowhere near the front post. Our attackers just went for the far post every time. And low and behold Brighton cleared the ball.

fair enough, I won't try then :-) - but not being found week after week is bound to take its toll on anybody
 
So in the summer we need:

1 keeper
2 new full backs
(At least) 1 new central midfielder
A KDB replacement
(at least) 1 new winger

Well Hugo has a big job on his hands

Do you think at any point that doku should have understood this and not put the ball at the feet of 3 defenders? While I agree it's been 2 years since someone ran front post It does work both ways.
