Nobody in the ground today supported the team in any meaningful way in a critical game.
maybe the club have reaped what they have sown, maybe a family of four who had parted with 180 quid for tickets before paying for anything else felt they had already made enough effort and were there to be entertained, maybe the connection between the club and the fans has got to such a low point that there is a huge disconnect. The notion it's a big game is ok, but in the context of the many big games we have witnessed Brighton at home probably struggles to get the pulse racing, rightfully or wrongly. There are so many aspects as to what is wrong at City at the moment, and the cost is the underlying factor, many fans are probably breathing a sigh of relief we have not progressed in europe just because of the fear of how much more it's going to cost them and many feel they are overlooked in favour of the £200+ ticket fans who tip up when it's Madrid or any other glamourous game. Manchester City survived during the bleak times because of the fans, City fans loved adversity, those fans are being treated like shite by the club, stupid prices, no new season cards, 10 years of season ticket price increases, a ground that resembles a theme park, no wonder there is total apathy, it's time we returned to being a football club that was a community football club, not just one that sees every opportunity as a cash grab.
