Referees’ Performances | 2024/2025

It's not close for me when I say Attwell is the worst referee to ever oversee a Premier League match. Some of the decisions he's made over the years have been extreme in their insanity. It's hard to beat somebody who has given a goal that literally never came close to going in the net.

But in terms of referees who are just so consistently wrong about all kinds of minor things - can one overlook Hooper? A man whose record seems to be indistinguishable from what would happen if you just randomly flipped a coin every time you needed to make a decision.

Chippy tits was fucking appalling today.
I’m getting sick of seeing opposition players getting away with wrestling, grabbing and pushing our players.
We do it and the cunts can’t get the whistle to their mouth quick enough.
Nearly every 50/50 went against us and him booking Doku for diving was a piss take.

Pep wasn’t happy with Hooper he was berating the fourth offical and gave Hooper quite a bollocking He is the worse of a a particularly bad bunch Im sure that he’s booked Doku for diving before

4 minutes time added on was a joke 8 subs and booked the BHFC keeper for consistent time wasting

Anyone seen a replay of the Doku ‘dive’? We couldn’t believe it in the stands. Hooper is a ****.
Problem was he had pretty much ridden the lunge but seeing how he had pushed the ball too far he resorted to a jump, twist and turn. He wasn’t diving for a foul but he was pretty theatrical. But moments later their centre forward went down went Gvardiol tickled him holding face. He should also have been booked for feigning injury. That said Hooper was shit all game. And here is one for all the refs, when the Brighton player deliberately took the free kick from about 10 yards from where it should have been, should he also have been booked for delaying the restart.

On rule for one one for us

I noticed he played advantage to Brighton when 1 of their own players was laid in the box clutching his head.
1. It wasn't a foul, so why give the advantage signal.
2. I always thought you had to stop play immediately for any head injury???

Booked all their infringements and didn’t book ours. Ignored all of our umpteen foul throws go (was Lewis doing it on purpose, every single one of his throwins was a foul throw?)

No complaints from me with regards to giving things against us.

Brighton fans will likely be annoyed with him though.

Got away with it today, lucky to get a point.
We have nine games left and all those teams are beneath us in the table. If we don't get 4th/5th place then heads have to roll, there can't be any more sentiment shown by the board. This season is proof of what can happen when you rest on your laurels. And just think, if City don't sign anybody in the summer and we go into 25/26 with this squad!
