I fucking love going to the match. By a country mile (and then some) it’s the highlight of the week. Bevvy, talk the same old bollocks about past matches / incidents; watch the team I love.
Some absolute tripe on this thread, woe is me shite.
If you don’t like Natalie Pike, Moonchester or any of the other silly bollocks, get a pint and stand near the bar with your mates. Or read the programme.
Stop fucking whinging and making out it’s all shiteness. Only in your heads is it.
Going to the match - I love it.
That's how I see it too most of the time.

I actually convinced myself in the aftermath that we had been given a “now or never” ultimatum which led to us joining. The fact we were the first to pull out, further convinced me it was the cartel and Spurs that were the bad guys and not us.

I’ve realised over that last year or so that I was completely wrong.

Nothing wrong with convincing yourself or believing the above it’s the most natural emotion in the world to think that way.

I’ve always doubted the club was ever acting for our interests, but that it was just fortunate our interests aligned at the outset (to be successful) but the owners wishes were to influence/have soft power in the most marketable league in the world.

For a long period of time, as the club grew. We saw evidence of a change (ticket prices creeping up in price) but the club never had the ‘customer’ base to change things dramatically. But now the ‘treble’ and the signing of Haaland has made us the hot ticket in town and the pendulum has swung in the clubs direction.
No longer do they have to pander to season ticket holders, keep prices low for the local fanbase they have a new market and have no concern for those who have gone before or the the effect on the atmosphere, its impact on the community the club is based in.

For what it's worth, I think 1894 do a fantastic job creating displays and sticking up for fans, however if they decide not to move to NSL2 that would be a huge error.

I think their reasoning for not currently wanting to move revolves around the planned 600 or so GA+ seats at the front of the new stand.

Whilst I also disagree with these seats existing, I think we need to try and work around it, there's still another 9,400 seats in that stand which is far more than any other section around the ground, certainly more than the 500 singers in 115.
I agree to some extent on them not moving, but then again north stand level 2 is better than ss1. It’s a bigger space, more room to grow, bigger tifos and no away fans.

We need to push the club to increase that standing section from 3,000 to 5,000. Practically and realistically that’s what we can change.

Move into NSL2 then pressure the club to remove the GA+. Otherwise its more likely to end up with more GA+ and the stadium being even worse. If the vocal fans get in there and create a racket it's going to lead to more people wanting to move there for that purpose and the GA+ will either join in or get shifted.

Great for you but please don't try to claim people are imagining it if they think otherwise.

Is it the case that our 1894 "atmosphere" group do not intend to move to the new North Stand ?

A minimum of 3000 rail seats will be set aside in the best position for generating songs and noise at the back of the North Stand under the roof.

Instead, 1894 have been very lukewarm.

South Stand 1 has a number of disadvantages -

* too small
* too low down
* one of the worst locations to generate a noise
* is partly situated below a concrete overhang from SS2 whuch deadens sound.

The South Stand is split in part with away fans and 2 levels are usually given over to away fans in cup games. Inevitably they dominate the noise at that end in cup games.

The new North Stand provides the opportunity for a complete, large end for the first time.

It will have a mix of different types of fans yet there will still be at least 3000 rail seats for singers and more if needed.

Our 1894 'atmosphere' group seem to be shunning this. Their 'reasons' for this appear to be unconvincing.

If 1894's primary objective is atmosphere generation, then locating in the extended North Stand is the logical way forward.
Couldn’t agree more with this. I used to donate money but they lost me for good when I read about their “red lines”.

It's easy to say 1894 should move to the new stand but you're assuming the club will allow a load of relocations

Fact is they've already decided how that stand will take shape. The agencies will have their GA+ packages lined up already, the hotel theirs

There isn't an opportunity to make that stand into anything now, ship sailed a year ago

This is literally the perfect time for people to relocate! You've got a brand new stand so nobody needs turfing out, why would they try and stop fans from relocating there.

I'm very cynical about the club as well, however we both know full well that they're not going to reserve all 8,000 new seats in the stand for packages and coorperate.

I'm sure you have some reasons, but as far as I'm concerned there are no reasons not to move to the new stand.

Not moving to the new stand because the club hasn't abided by some of their "red lines" would be incredibly disappointing.

People have been in uproar about the clubs plans to only have 3,000 safe standing spots, but that's literally the minimum! They've said they'll increase it if the demand is there! It's up to US to show that we want this, and I hope 1894 can be the ones who lead that charge!

If anything they'll want more people to move into the presumably cheaper safe standing seats at the back of the stand so that the more expensive seats their vacating across the rest of the stadium can be turned into individual match by match package seats.

Not a single seat in that new stand is bought or allocated. Everything is on the table. The club will of course have to allow relocations. That’s the key to making it work.

They might fuck it up of course but no ship has sailed anywhere yet.

No disrespect as I enjoy reading your posts, but you are miles off.

I can't speak for the other 1894 lads, but I'm not standing at the back of NSL2, behind GA+ seats at the front, GA seats in the middle, and in the safe standing section in front of the hotel balconies, surrounded throughout the tier by tourists staying in the hotel, day trippers, football fans of other clubs, etc.

The club will have their own roof Tifo mechanisam which is shown in the PA. There's no point in waving telescopic flags at the back of NSL2, nobody will see them in other parts of the ground. As for chants and supporting the team, the majority of fans sat down don't tend to sing. The stewards on NSL2 will be forcing City fans to sit down who aren't in the safe standing section at the back of the stand.

Thanks for the 1894 heads up, but I'm staying in South stand, level one, with or without the other 1894 lads.

Started laughing out loud to Moonchester being brought into the equation.

It's a corporate stand, stick all the tourists in there and make the rest of the ground, low price, seasoncard heavy, local fans subsidised etc.

Instead of having one area for the atmosphere, price it right and get the right people in (Hamburg) and the majority of the ground can be atmospheric

The club have said that the number of Safe Standing Seats will be based on demand. So that 3,000 number will increase if people want it to.

As for the GA+, it's not ideal but it's a tiny amount compared to the size and scale of the stand, so it will barely be noticeable. Also GA+ doesn't mean the Tunnel Club, it's not even hospitality. It's just premium seating.

Telescopic flags don't equal atmosphere, for all I care we can fuck those off all together.

I think that it's a complete no brainer, however if people want to stay in SS1 where they can gesture at the away fans and sing songs that can barely be heard elsewhere in the ground then so be it.

Let's see how it pans out. Good luck.

I'm genuinely interested to what the club has said that's given you the impression that this will be a "coorperate" stand.

Just because the hotel is being built at the same time, it doesn't mean that people staying in the hotel will be guaranteed to sit in NSL2.

In fact I'd argue if I was paying a lot of money for a hotel+ticket package, then I'd want to be in a padded seat on the halfway line, not behind the goal up in the gods!

I’ve realised over that last year or so that I was completely wrong.
I was also on that thought process and even hoped/thought we'd only jumped in so we could pull out and make the scheme collapse.

My faith in the top execs has somewhat wained over the years. I know time moves on but it's a long time since on a few away games in Europe you'd end up having drinks bought by Cook and Buzzer on their expense accounts. Nowadays you'd more likely be sped past Inna tinted limo while they were pointing at us and laughing.

Cheers, similar with your posts!

Maybe I wasn’t clear. I’m not saying that the 1894 group should move to the back of the stand - I even said I agree why you wouldn’t want to currently. I’m saying we as fans (not just the group) should be pushing for more safe standing, then you wouldn’t be at the back of the stand, you’d be closer to the middle/front. Surely that’s the compromise worth having?

I don’t think anyone should be moving until details are released as well.

On the tifo front, it’s more about potential. There would be more room and potential to make bigger displays. Ss1 your quite limited for space
