TV Series

Adolescense was great. Only thing that slightly irked me was the miss mash of accents involved. For a drama supposedly set in Merseyside, the only scouse accents came from Steven Graham and his Mrs. Even some of the kids sounded like they were from down south.

You might be right but you sure it’s set in Merseyside? I’m sure in the last episode he says to his wife we can’t move back to Liverpool?

Just watched the Office season 1and 2 , brilliant don't know how they got away with the stuff they came out with,is Extras any good?

I’m biased because I can’t think of anything Gervais has done that I don’t like.

But I think for me, Extras possibly even tops The Office.

How he got some of those A listers to come on and take the piss out of the themselves, I don’t know.

Imagine even having the balls to ask De Niro to come on and have them take the piss out of him?

I think my favourite episode is the one with Kate Winslet though.

Wasn’t set in Liverpool.

The only 2 with that horrible accent are the parents. The lad is Manc (I can hear some Warrington in there too?) and the geezer in the DIY store is. The daughter had a nondescript one.

The 1 thing I didn't get was how the crime happened at 10.30pm yet the police had all the evidence to enable them to make an arrest at 6am the next day.

These are never done "in one take". Too many things can go wrong, depending on whether the filming is in one position or moves around.

If it moves around, there's edits done where there's moments of darkness or brightness for an easier edit.

Check out the links to see how it was filmed.

also series 3 of the wheels of time has started really well
To each their own. But after about 1/2 of the first season of The Wheels of Time the series became unwatchable. Full of special effect nonsense that wasn't at all special - but was instead, distracting or to me, off-putting; background graphics/scenery that was clearly off; and lousy character development/script. This last point - lack of interesting character interaction is a series killer for me.

Adolescence was filmed in one take.

As I said, it depends on whether things move around.

The film "1917" was supposed to be done in "one take" as it was proposed before release, but proved to be a lie.

"Why was 1917 filmed in one-shot?

1917: Why it looks like it was shot in a single, continuous ...

Why Sam Mendes made 1917 look like it was shot in a single, continuous take. The director wanted his World War I drama to feel more like “a ticking-clock thriller” than a war movie."
