Oh bugger really. I read something saying they were planning on up to 5 seasons now. Very disappointing.Mmm, no.
It was widely reported that they weren't sure where they'd find the time to make it as the showrunner had other projects he wanted to explore.
Basically, nobody wanted to make it without him.

Douglas and Mark Olshaker and David Fincher, who helped build the Netflix brand with the House Of Cards series, served as showrunner for Mindhunter. However, it appears that Fincher's desire to pursue other projects at Netflix has played a part in the decision to release the cast from their contracts
It may still happen, but it will depend on where Fincher's head's at...
Perhaps they had run out of 'famous serial killers' so 2 seasons were enough. Did feel like they had at least one more to explore though and probably the best crafted TV show I've seen for some time (Fincher is a great stylist and mood creator).
On the other hand it will provide opportunities for him to produce more great TV for Netflix.
I was really looking forward to seeing how the story in Wichita developed. There was a whole series surely on that serial killer alone.I think the research is time consuming even though there's actual FBI tapes and footage of interviews. That and having other interests has put this whole thing back. Fincher is a really interesting director, I agree.
I would hope he revisits 'Mindhunter' in a year or two.
It is quite funny. A lot better than the Football comedy made by the inbetweeners for the BBC.
Episode 4 is out tomorrow. and theyve just renewed it for a 2nd season.
Anyone into design then Abstract on Netflix is worth a watch. Two seasons with each episode focussed on different designers/architects/artists/typographers et al...
watched S1. a bit drawn out (pardon the pun) and tedious. the shoe episode was the best.
