This **** needs an investigation into every deal. Reminds me of another Scouse Mayor who used his position to benefit himself.
I’m submitting a foi to query that very thingThe point is that they need the freight terminal land. As long as United pay top dollar for it and pay for their giant tent then there is no issue. I suspect that a deal gets done that they get it for f.uck all. Needs a close watch on it.
All the residential towers in the city centre over a certain height have red warning lights on the top of them.
I read it in this article
And the proposed freight terminal land was purchased in 2023. Which pre-dates INEOS
This and other valid questions need to be included in the 'template' that someone on here is creating.I tend not to believe puff pieces that are purely based on may, could PR.
If Freightliner have the new land already, for example, why haven't they moved yet?If it's too expensive for them to move, why did they buy the land in the first place? I think we can all guess the answers to those questions.
Tritax own and have put in planning applications for the land. Freightliner would just be a tenant, I believe.I tend not to believe puff pieces that are purely based on may, could PR.

The fact that the planning applications have only just gone through first consultation phase tells us that there is a long way to go yet.
Secretary of State consent not expected until Q3 2027.
Then they have to build it.

Freightliner have completely lucked out here, because the value of their land just skyrocketed.I tend not to believe puff pieces that are purely based on may, could PR.

The new proposals have the entire site covered in apartments. They are going to make a fortune on this.
They could even sell it plot by plot, instead of a job lot.

I'm with you on this, but for different reasons. Land values have to make sense for developers. They don't just build for the sake of it. That's why we've seen land banks in past years.Any evidence the land value has skyrocketed any more than regional growth?
What happens when the government don’t approve due to absolute fantastically / fraudulent proposals?

And the extra 25,000 United fans going to the Wembley of the North in Trafford(arf!), not in Manchester. He’s gonna need more than that for the 96k jobs he’s created.
Not sure it’s too hard to understand why the buses end up like this. They get caught in traffic somewhere on the route (usually in the city centre) and they begin to bunch together. It will be worse when the service is very frequent (every 6 mins or so). You could arrange for buses to unload all their passengers into the other bus and turn them round but that also leaves passengers waiting at the stops missed out on the return journey no better off. In this day and age of bus tracking apps, it really isn’t as much an issue as this used to be as you at least know your wait time.
It’s not a new thing that Burnham has created. The fix is to stop the cause and getting people out of cars into buses would help that.
Stefan’s analysis on his substack of the Rags new stadium is fantastic & exactly what we thought that the numbers are grossly exaggerated.
It's no good. He won't sleep with you :)
