PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

from a legal standpoint its bizarre because you simply cannot prove a negative, its them saying we know you have the information and us saying no we dont, and them saying prove you dont, how would we do that send them a picture of an empty filing cabinet and go see nothing there.
It's bizarre only as far as they never had a leg to.stand on from the start and the whole process is the punishment for us regardless of the verdict

Just a naive question, do you mean all the senior staff from City....?
Yes. Who did you think I meant? It might be that we're following united & announcing redundancies, or something unconnected to the charges. Or it might mean we're briefing them on the outcome, which we've been given.

i said something to that effect last night, this was never about guilty or innocent in the first place, this was about damaging our reputation to divert from the shitshow that the cartel clubs were putting on.

I think Stefan is correct again. Nobody knows the verdict other than the panel. The rest is everyone getting prepared for the verdict to drop. As we get nearer to the official verdict impatience grows and it’s human nature to read things into absolutely nothing.

The Keegan tweet is a good example. You can read anything into that if you want to but if you remember that SKY do not know the verdict either it’s meaningless. It’s just another swirling rumour that counts for nothing.

City and the PL will have a feeling of how the case went and no doubt both sets of lawyers believe they have been at least partially successful and have been positive with their clients. Even they don’t know for sure.

On a side note did you know that “Borson” means a grower or seller of peas? So even I have put my faith in Captain Birdseye ;-)

They will know how the evidence as received & that may well have been leaked as part of the PR battle.

Oliver Holt crying about modern day football, he should realise that’s its growth since the inception of the PL and the public’s interest in it in this country and abroad have given him a livelihood where people want to consume papers and other media. Did he want it stuck in the dark days of the 80s with hooliganism, decaying grounds and falling interest in it?

The PLs global appeal was always going to get investors from other countries looking for a piece of the action. What type of people did he think would want in? There aren’t too many Manc equivalents of Jack Walker wanting to replicate what he did with Blackburn.

'Cliff is a faintly Musk-ish figure, who appears to be fond of shouting the odds and calling the shots. He tells the other 19 Premier League clubs what is legal and what is illegal and when to fall in line and when to disobey.'

And it turned out he was right, why didn't he write that?

Cliff - Guys i think this new addtion to the AFP rules is illegal we're not voting on it while we seek legal advice.

[PL ingores him]

Cliff - No seriously this seems beyond the scope of the law, we're voting against it this time and we really think someone will pursue this if you vote it through.

[PL ignores him]

Cliff - OK, it passed anyway, we're gonna have to use the pre-decided route for ajudicating these matters and go to arbitration.

[PL ignores him]

Cliff - So like the arbitration panel said these rules are illegal, why don't we wait until the panel says what exactly was unlawful instead of voting in new rules or they'll be defunct straight away?

[PL ignores him]

Cliff - So like we said 2 1/2 years ago...

Oliver Holt - "How dare this man say what is legal and not!"

I have been having a search for any news of the 115 charges this morning there's plenty of it,
but on every one I've read the NON co operation gets stated with more emphasis than the original charges ??
but then again only looking for positives with my blue specs on

Exactly. The rise of the PL has enabled people like him, Glendenning, Ronay, Delaney and others who know fuck all about football, to pontificate about it on a weekly basis.

PMSL. I've met Simon and he's a very quiet, understated man, nothing like Musk.
