Just seen Kev has been playing for Belgium - surely at 34 years old if he wanted to get really fit, rested and get somewhere near his level on a consistent basis he would retire from international football? Doesn’t something have to give?
His legs

He can’t play more than 30 mins for city. He’s been finished for a while, needs to retire.

Around 16 monghts left to the World Cup, he's not gonna quit.

No one will quit at that situation, especially when you consider his last 2 tournaments ended in embarrassment.
Plus, it’s probably his biggest wish to win something with his country now he’s won everything at club level.

Fans of all clubs underestimate how most players see playing for their countries is the ultimate privilege and honour. Especially those that play for smaller nations.

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand why a player would want to take part in the World Cup.

I just don’t understand how anyone would even think about picking a player so far past his best. It's just embarrassing.

I really don't see how selection based on sentiment makes a squad sronger. Kev is finished at the top level, and going by tonight's result, so are most of the current Belgian squad.

That depends on their manager and whether they’ve got anyone better coming through.

KDB will always make himself available for selection and it’s up to their manager to decide whether he’s the best guy or not.

Belgium seem to be transitioning from their “golden generation” to being absolutely shit. That’s football.

Imagine Belgian grandfathers telling their grandkids how Roberto Martinez was chosen to be the man to deliver success for them during their best player era!

He barely plays for us what’s your problem ?

I agree . Kdb would probably swap everything he’s won for a World Cup

Don't see what the problem is. He's absolutely made for the slower pace of international football these days, and judging by the highlights reel above, he played well. If anything, the minutes and match sharpness could benefit us.

It's bewildering how many people aren't grasping this. Kev is largely done due to effort, injuries and above all else age! We cannot have a repeat of this season if we are genuinely serious about challenging, in regards to players who are over the hill. Posters stating "bring him off the bench for 15 mins every couple of games" have sod all knowledge of the squad quota rule. An energetic, hungry new team is the way ahead imo.

Can you tell us how well did Foden played in the slower pace of international football against Albania ?

Actually an incredible stat. The red shirts dared compared Odegaard and Fernandes to him.

One of the greatest attacking midfielders of all time. When fit, he is still capable of being a change maker in any team in the world.

City’s problem is that Pep thinks flogging him to death is Kev’s role in the team.

It’s stupidity in my book, and makes me question Pep’s motives at times.
