PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The club may also be concerned about being accused of leaking the outcome prior to any agreed date. I’m not saying the result is but at this stage it’s just a game of wait and see. It’ll probably drop when we least expect it after days of silence.
Yeah, that's my thinking too. The staff were told the outcome of the CAS verdict on the Friday before the Monday it was announced and some of them told family members/friends about it (not saying I blame anyone for doing that as I doubt I'd have been able to keep that to myself over the whole weekend!) so by the time it dropped on the Monday morning it was up there as one of the world's worst kept secrets.

This time I think the hierarchy will be keen to avoid a repeat and I'd imagine even if the verdict is a good one the vast majority of staff will still only be hearing nothing more than the usual expressions of confidence from their superiors which has been the norm throughout.

While it seems entirely plausible that City haven't received the final verdict yet, I don't think it's necessarily true that nobody at the club has heard anything from the IC since the hearing finished. There surely would've been some dialogue since then between the IC and City/the PL even if it's not to deliver the final verdict. If there had been no communication at all since December then that would mean the club are still very much in the dark about the outcome and I'm not buying that at this stage of the process.
I'd agree with those thoughts and could be a reason for the PL C-list actions on recruitment if Masters etc is for the chop as this has gone tits up their end.

Virtually nothing has leaked out from City at any stage. Even the snide briefings from other Club Directors have dried up. The PL case has been much tighter than UEFA. The Judges don’t like leaks.

This thread these days. I swear people are losing their minds over this.

It's easy to see how things like Brexit and Trump happen when so many people lose their capacity for logical thought under stress.

It's actually fascinating to see in a rather sad sort of way.
Hear, hear.
People are forgetting the ultimate prize in this game of claim, counter-claim, rumours, spin, smoke and mirrors etc - and that's the continuing success of Manchester City FC.
And you know what? Thanks to the investment by HRH and his associates that is pretty much as guaranteed as it can be.

I sincerely hope our club's owners remain in situ when we're at the other side of this verdict. They have been dream owners in almost every respect and, for me, the charges against them have n9t been brought in good faith.

However, if the very worst were to happen (and I don't think it will), they would be forced to walk away from a very different Manchester City to the one they originally bought.
In a nutshell, with everything in place now, investors would be clamouring to take City off their hands.

Like ai say, I sincerely hope the worst doesn't happen - I'll say it again: the current owners are fantastic - but I'm not convinced this is the existential threat that some are calling it. We have risen from worse.
