PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Some saying this verdict isn't important . It's all relative ,it's not if you or your family have just had a cancer diagnosis, or you're in Ukraine and getting stabbed in the back first for believing Europe and the USA promising to guarantee your sovereignty, and then to see Lilly and Trump splitting up your country or any other of the myriad of injustices around the world.
But it is important, on a scale of what has given us a whole range of memories over the years plus the camaraderie, and yes to feel we have been lied to would be sickening
For what it's worth I have immense confidence the we and therefore the club are innocent of all substantive allegations.

IF that was the case then why havent HMRC and the police been involved at any stage of this whole process?
Police, HMRC and CFA would be all over this (any may be to an extent, who knows?) if there was even a sniff of it holding much water

I'm fairly certain that they'd have had to have been involved at some point, and perhaps even they've turned away from it

All guesswork, but they absolutely would be involved (if it was likely), or have been involved at some point (regardless) they'd want documents, the lot

Over the last 5 weeks, I have known 2 lads lads from Newton Heath hang themselves. One in their 40's and another in his 30's. I have done a lot of thinking over the last few days and it's made me realise what's important to me.
I honestly don't care about the verdict. It's not going to diminish my love of City. I don't support City because of success. Owners will come and go.
Now I was not there for the Aguero moment. I had a load of my mates in my house, in Newton Heath. All rags, but one. My mate Beef was giving it me all game. When Aguero scored, I went absolutely mental. I totally lost control. I jumped on top of Beef and was laying right into him. I had to be dragged off him. It was fucking fantastic, I loved every second of it.
Now, my mate Beef died of bowel cancer not long after that, aged 35. All I have got is memories. They can take the trophies, they mean fuck all. But they are never taking my memories as that's all I have got. When I go back to Newton Heath, the story will be about when I went mad and started hitting Beef. That's what me and my mates will remember. Not financial experts and bullshit rules.
That's why I don't give a fuck. Win or lose this case, I will make more memories.
Love this post.

Is this verdict going to make any difference to anyone's life, on here?
I follow this thread for entertainment value and pipe up here n there.
But, whether get get found innocent or guilty is going to make absolutely no difference to my life, one little bit. I will still follow City, no matter what.
I will be more disappointed if we get beat on Sunday than I will if we lose this case.
Is this a wind up?

Edit - just seen your post about your mate.

I take it back.

Even if City are guilty of bending the "bent" rules I will not stop supporting them. Some perspective is needed here. Liverpool in the 80s and United in the 90s were allowed unlimited spending. So they changed the rules to try and stop City. Do you honestly believe, for example, that paying Mancini (totally legally) an extra £2.75m a year made any difference to our FA Cup and title wins in 2011 and 2012. Did it also affect our Cup Final defeat to Wigan? Even if you add up all the so called inflated sponsorships alleged to have happened we still would have passed the FFP rules. Remember we have been accused of investing too much money in our club. There is no problem with running up huge debts and not paying them back though. We have been accused of breaching PL rules which have been found unlawful in other instances. Pep is the main, possibly the only reason, for our succcess.

I refuse to believe that MCFC have been operating on any different basis than Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs etc. They've gone through absolutely everything they can to bury us. Hopefully they fail, but I am sticking by City no matter what.

It's quite ridiculous to think that executives, senior managers and even some middle managers at the club and the sponsor companies in question are all involved in this massive conspiracy.

And liverpool (littlewoods) in the 60s.

During his time as manager at the swamp baconface/GPC/fergie broke the British transfer record more times than any other club or manager.

I probably would describe it in a different way, but my sentiment would be exactly the same.
A lifetime of City memories that I wish I could relive just one more time.

100% agree with this. I find the narrative amongst sections of the fanbase that it doesn't really matter crazy. It absolutely invalidates the last 17ish years. Sure, they can never take the memories away but those memories are undeniably tarnished. Plus, whilst I don't really care what opposition fans think, we can never have the conversation about Pep's City being the greatest team in English history as it will be immediately batted away by anyone with those 3 digits. It would be absolutely disastrous for the club and personally, I don't think I could continue supporting the club whilst the board who hypothetically committed the deceit were still involved.
The deceit belongs to Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs and above all else Liverpool FC.

What is certain, is this fanbase has really reached the end of its tether now , off pitch has taken president of on the pitch , for me , top five is the goal , but this is really lingering now , and it’s really clear now that we have all had enough of this, never ever seen so much bickering with the fans of this club before.
Soon be over blues.

U never been on a matchday thread then and the transfer bit of the forum makes this look like a nursery

Perhaps you are extremely thick skinned and if you really can feel like that, good for you.
The consequences of losing this (on the serious charges) would be monumental. My love of the club is a part if who I am as a person, and I would be absolutely shell shocked and gutted to the core. Of course life goes on and I'd support whatever identity of City that is left, but, my God, mentally I'd suffer.
Of course we can all think of other more important awful things, tragedies and loved ones, but it doesn't diminish what's at stake and the emotional impact.
Your right. I hope he doesn't walk straight into a monumental nightmare.
