He's no use to us until he fills out physically. He makes Foden look stocky. This isn't a kids too small and writing him off post either, he just has a child's body at the moment and needs to fill out. I can't see him being sent to Lazio because he won't play there either. He'll be put on a specific fitness program by the club, he has all the technical ability in the world. Just be patient with the lad, he wasn't bought to be a quick fix. Even River used him sparingly despite his obvious huge talent because of this, and we were paying them per appearance.

You remind me of David Platt on David Silva, he thought David Silva will not make it in the PL because of his physicality.

Same thing applies to the Other Silva Bernardo, did you remember what he did against the strong Yaya ?

I think the team needs skillful players with strong personality more than strong bodies.

I literally said that wasn't what you needed to take from my post. He can't play in the Premier League right now because he needs to adapt to the hustle and bustle of the PL. Im not writing him off as too small, there are just some realities from coming from South America as a teenager to a new completely different League. David Silva couldn't have done it as a teenager either, in fact he struggled himself early on in his City career, it took him a few months to really start being able to influence games. He scored that great goal against Blackpool and kicked on from there and he was coming from a much higher standard of football and much older. I'm not writing Claudio off at all, this kid is very very gifted, just calling for patience.

You are right, he might need time to adjust or he might be another Julian Alvarez.

River wasn't using him full time, they were trying to make him settle in like now they are doing with Mastantuono. He is lightweight, yet anyone that thinks that the Argie League it's not harsh, think again.

The thing it's I dunno if it's a good idea to make him go to Girona, to possibly not be used there either, frustrate him, get acostume to earn money the easy way in a very easy going and fun country and loose his focus and hunger. If he is motivated enough, even if bullied, it's better to stay, to train with the team, to have some oportunities. I'm not fond of this sort of loans.

He's not Julian Alvarez though, I've watched River Plate games, you clearly haven't. Alvarez was the best player on the continent by the time he left. Echeverri is a highly talented young kid who needs time to progress.
I don't know about being the best player of the continent, yet one of the most promising youngsters and quite a bulky stocky fella a la Aguero, Tevez, Messi and Diego since day one.

Eceheverri it's more Aimar alike regarding physique

I agree with this, the kid doesn't need to develop his footballing skills, he's got the lot, it's purely physical/acclimating to a very different environment. Definitely keep him with the first team and give him minutes when we're winning comfortably and in the domestic cups next season, hopefully working his way into rotation by the end of next season. He's very good, but people expecting him to come straight off the plane and save our season are nuts.

I think he's saying Alvarez was best player on the continent, not Echeverri.

I know, I was talking about Alvarez, I was talking more in terms that winning these awards in these late years actually means way less than in the old days. Yet indeed he won awards, he had an excellent season in 2021 too, a lesser one in 2022. I think the best way to talk about this stuff it's to say that Alvarez was already after that 2021 an established player with his best season that year. Quite a different scenario of what Echeverri was in River.

Alvarez and Echeverri are not comparable in terms of age... Alvarez had many years of mens football and joined us at 22.

Echeverri needs time to adapt, I think he will actually be part of the squad next season.

But Im not really expecting anything right now, as he will realize how physical things are and need time to adapt to it.

I hope he can follow O'Reilly way

Gets an opportunity, excel and then forced himself into the team.

I think he might be KDB replacement.

I can't see him playing in the Premier League this season now. I would like Pep to put a little more faith in our young players e.g., O'Reilly who could have played more earlier in this season.

I want to see this guy and fast.

we know what we will get from the likes of Gundo, KDB, Foden for the rest of the season ad its not much. 10-20 ins for Echeverri to bed him in a bit and try him out wouldnt cause any problems. he was one of the starters for River Plate wasnt he?
