City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

Yeah totally. I'm not disputing that at all, I was viewing it very much with Rose tinted glasses in potential relation to the charges. The ticketing fiasco has been handled appallingly badly by the club.
So will that mean that the other 8 are now ditched so we only have one tout scamming fans

Or 9 now ?

Danny Wilson, Managing Director, Manchester City Operations, said: “We’re pleased to welcome viagogo as an Official Partner of Manchester City.

“By working closely with viagogo throughout this partnership, we will be able to offer a secure, safe option for fans to purchase hospitality in this way, improving access and best practices along the way alongside our current ticketing infrastructure.”

Hey Danny - how about setting up that meeting with City Matters instead?
Nah... too busy thinking about how to spend the next big bonus for signing up another commercial partner... a bigger yacht, perhaps?

This lot are the biggest sharks going.
Utterly depressing that the club simply aren't listening and however much they pretend they want to engage with the traditional fanbase the sad truth is that they don't give a shit.
The fact is that clubs make more money from your seat, if a season ticket holder isn't sitting in it. Someone from viagogo will pay more money for it, they will eat hot dogs on the concourse, and buy loads of crap in the club shop. They will spend 200 quid in one day, where as you only gave them 50 quid.

This is why your views are falling on deaf ears. You're what they now call a legacy fan.

Football games are no longer exclusive, you can go on the internet and get seats in 2 clicks, and nobody cares who you support. Just pay the money and the seats are yours.

And if the demand is there, the dynamic pricing kicks in and the prices automatically rise, because a coachload of tourists are here for the weekend and they have the money for a one off game. Even if 4 of them are wearing Liverpool kits. Get in here and spend your money now.

First Todd Boehly at Chelsea now us. I wonder how many clubs have invested in some of these ticket agencies. It essentially is legalised touting. Perhaps it makes commercal sense if it is limited to corporate customers but we all know that won't happen long-term. Of course, like many on here, I have been forced to use these rip-off agencies for places like Bournemouth and Plsen away where I can't get tickets (even with high points) It is another PR blunder. The least the club should do is be transparent about where the tickets actually go.

I've watched the YouTube clips of the extended stand and the new hotel and looking forward to see it complete, seen all the incredible developments City have built around Eastlands, and, of course, enjoyed the success of the last decade. But honestly, I’ve never felt more disconnected from the club than I do now.

City have grown into a global powerhouse, and while the success is amazing, it feels like the club has drifted away from the core fanbase—the ones who were there long before the trophies and expansion projects.

Is it just me, or do others feel the same? Is it the commercial side of things, or just a general sense that the connection between the club and the fans isn’t what it used to be?

Manchester City has today announced a new global partnership with viagogo, the world’s leading ticket marketplace, to give fans around the world new opportunities to access and experience live men’s and women’s matches.
These lot have had a bad reputation for years.
Which is why the club and these are a perfect match.
Both robbing b@stards

Well yeah, the appeal for the tourist though is to experience a premier league game, experience that atmosphere. It is short sighted on City's part to push out the legacy fans because once we are all mostly gone, the appeal for the tourist will wear off. I heard it debated on the radio of owners not even caring about bums on seats and rather sell tv subscriptions but then you simply have no product. If you have no product then you have no attraction surely?

Plus all the hotels and restaurants/pubs in Manchester... it's good for growth... until tourists move to the next shiny thing and the club is left with a soulless shell... good luck, Pep, waving your arms to the fans asking for support!

Profit comes first!

They're quite unbelievable. The timing of announcing this when they can't even be arsed talking to City Matters. Even if they were working on this arrangement in recent weeks perhaps announce it after you've addressed the concerns of supporters who've been the backbone of the club for generations? Absolutely no self-awareness.

Looking forward to even more neutrals and away fans in the home end. FFS.

Needs some actual blues on the board where their motivation isn't purely financial.

It’s only while we are winning trophies, when that dries up so will the tourists..

shit house move from the club.. surely a walk out protest is close? cant attend a meeting with city matters to discuss prices etc, but announce this utter drout?

What a joke. The biggest ticket touts are the club
Alll football fans need to organise themselves you have seen this morning how chelski supported trust has written to the premier league as bohely is a director of an unauthorized ticket agency in the states selling chelski tickets for £4k and the last game at anfield for £20k .....a massive walk out on the 65th minute at all premier league matches will make them thing again .....
