In your shoes I'd probably still go, just make sure to delete your socials and triple check your ESTA and read the .gov.uk to make sure you dont miss anything.

I’m not into conspiracy theories, generally, but I find myself scratching my head about that whole scene. I honestly would not put anything past this excuse for a human being.
It seemed to be the perfect shot in the arm for his campaign, never mind shot in the ear.
And the way he jumped up fist pumping the air, has never sat right with me.
You would imagine his minders would have had him off that stage without his feet hitting the ground, never mind taking applause.

Par for course is that the shooter was shot. No leaks after about what or why things were planned the way they were on the day. Much cleaner that way.

It’s the American way.


Anyway. Yes, conspiracy theories, blah de blah, but the truth is I don’t believe a word out of American news (Fox mainly) anymore. There doesn’t seem to be any independent objective journalism allowed anywhere near this administration.i look at some of the questions and answer sessions and I want to puke. It’s all so staged and rarely is a probing question answered. It just becomes a propaganda vehicle.

America, you’re screwed. Yes we said this was coming but I doubt any of us were expecting the shit show that has transpired so far.
My hope is that the incompetence they have displayed recently is only the tip of the iceberg and they will in time assassinate themselves.
Because the consequences of them fulfilling their goals will have dire far reaching repercussions throughout the world, never mind the USA.

I guess I should qualify what I said a little based on location. I'm biased but I think realistically, you're unlikely to have trouble in NY. Trump supporters are a despised minority, the people working in immigration are more professional and if an officer gives you trouble there's someone to check his work. I haven't heard of anyone having a problem at the NYC airports yet.

So if your daughter is coming anyway I might just go ahead with it. I'm sure I don't need to tell you, but if your kids are growing up you might not have the opportunity to make that trip in the same way four years from now.

My hope too. Although Trump and many of his top team couldn’t be more moronic if they tried, there are some clever cunning evil bastards telling him what to do. The main hope is his narcissism will stop him following their advice and he’ll just continue to do stupid shit that will finish them all off.

He reads nothing put in front of him.
He asks for a brief before spouting his deflective shite to anything he’s asked.
He has cleared out a level of competence at high level and replaced it with sycophants ( DEI appointments it could be said) that are also gobshites well out of their depths’ for the offices they hold.

Let’s hope they drown themselves in mismanagement as the repercussions for us all will be dire I fear, not just the US of A.

The guys who I plonked are probably still singing his praises here..

But you know what.. the Trump and MAGA incompetence might just somehow save us from fascism.

Since they're so busy in destroying the economy.. we just might luck out that Trump and MAGA don't get to ride the rise of a recovering economy the same way that the Nazi's and Hitler did!

The problem is, there's a certain amount of damage that it becomes so painful to fix that it can never go back.

His MO has always been to be a bully. He sees himself as the big dog who can tell everyone else what to do or else. He tried it in the real estate world where he would threaten contractors and not pay them and he’s transferred those techniques to running a country. If he had any self awareness he’d know that those techniques might get him a few small wins but long term will fail miserably as was proven by his numerous bankruptcies. It will fail even more spectacularly when it becomes clear that he can’t bully the whole of the rest of world, Other countries will eventually do their own thing and marginalise the US leaving it with much reduced influence and much poorer.

Fuck their own country all they want, its all the collateral shit to others I hope we avoid. Like you say, the only good thing so far is the shift away from far right ideology in the the other western countries.
