City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

How about getting in seats 10 minutes before, make some noise and stay 10 minutes after and make some noise. That would make more of an impression.

No-one buy a pint or programme. I am not missing a minute of a game thanks .
I’ve missed loads for you, always got your back my fellow blue

Personally I'd say boycott the game entirely, do not sell your tickets on, make sure them seats are empty, if your worried about a letter from the club, go scan your phone and turn around and walk off
Absolutely.

When they do fan protests in Germany, they are highly visible.

You'll get ultras group either boycotting half or an entire match. There have been some that come in twenty minutes in or are silent throughout a period of time. They may have no flags or banners. However, when you have ultras groups, it is visible. When you have a stadium full of people who just sit there, once they've prized themselves away from the pub, then it's less easy to make a statement.

A big banner unfurled during the game would do the trick. Maybe significant chants about it would. Staying late and chanting about it post-game would turn heads in the media. A few hundred people turning up three minutes later than a few thousand others just isn't going to be noticed in the slightest.

It means you don’t have to be a member. You don’t have to have an account with City. You can bypass ticket point requirements for future games (as long as you have the money).

My question to the club is “do you think this will lead to more or less away fans/trouble in the stands”?

Remember, 1894 surveyed over 5k blues and found that away fans in the home end was their biggest concern. This data was shared with the club (including Danny Wilson who has commented on how happy he is about this partnership).

They are piss takers.
They are piss takers.

Especially when those who start mither in the stands are people who buy from these sites yet they’re never going to be the ones who get banned, it’ll be the long standing season ticket holder who the club can take the punishment out on and say they’ve done something about it.

Eventually there’ll be no trouble because we will all have either been banned or got so fed up of it we don’t go anymore.

Let’s all bin City off and get behind Maine Road FC :)
I know you’re probably joking, but I’ve had a few mates say ‘come and watch Wythy Town’ ‘come and watch Alty’… but I’m a City fan, I don’t give a shit about Maine Road FC or any other local team. Couldn’t even tell you what MR’s kit looks like, anything about their history, not even sure what league they’re.

We can’t let the club fuck us off from City. City is ours, not our boardroom’s. Our boardroom are just temporary employees. They’ll be long gone before I ever am.

I deplore this deal with Viagogo, but I honestly don't think this has been well thought through.

This is a midweek match against Leicester when we are no longer in the title race.

The chances are that there will be 5,000 or more people who have tickets that will not turn up.

It's also a 7.45pm kick off for a game that a lot of people who are turning up for will not be breaking their backs to get into early.

There is a very strong possibility that there will be 10,000 empty seats at kick off, decreasing to about 5,000 ten minutes in, in any case.

Also, what crowd noise was there ever likely to be in the first ten minutes of this game?

How will the club even know there is a protest?

I'm not against a protest, but surely the point of one is to actually make it visible and effective. This is neither.
its just the start. There’s plenty of opportunity for other forms of protest

Each to their own and all that but remember this is an opening gambit
That's kind of my point. This shouldnt be an each to their own situation. The overwhelming majority of match going city fans will be of the same mindset in being against viagogo and the way city are treating us with regards to tickets and pricing but the actions chosen to try and demonstrate that unity amongst us will cause division that will ultimately render it pointless.

I'm not one of those people here to simply shit all over things, i recognise it's easy to do that whilst offering no alternative course of action myself and i generally back 1894 with their ideas and efforts to present a voice but this is just something that in my eyes is doomed to have zero impact. In a midweek game where there's going to be empty seats throughout and is typically slow to fill anyway, it just seems like an odd decision.

Firstly I really appreciate all the efforts of the various individuals and fan groups that are taking the club to task on this.

I absolutely agree that a protest or statement is necessary, but I'm reluctant to miss out on watching some of a match to make that point. That would punish me, rather than the club. Empty seats also give media and rival fans an unnecessary free hit. I can already see the headlines 'would anyone notice the difference' etc.

I would be more in favour of a coordinated, peaceful protest outside the main entrance before the game etc.

Why?

I am not a supporter of Maine Rd FC.

so would be a hollow gesture from me and disrespectful towards this old local club, personally if I was a MRFC fan I wouldn't want those going as a gimmick at my games

Danny Wilson set to appear at Glossop Supporters Club on Tuesday to discuss the 'Stadium Expansion and answer any questions'.

I'm planning to attend and give the twat's ear a good bending. Anything to add?

I respect what your saying, but who gives a fck what the media and other fans think. Why do you care about that?

I’d also say it’s 9 minutes of one game. I wouldn’t call it a punishment, especially if it effects your future attending games (freeze in prices)

Ask him how much Viagogo have paid to become a partner.

I would say a boycott of Food and Drink would be a better idea both inside and outside the Stadium. That is to say I'm not knocking the idea of some sort of demo inside the Ground.

Whilst I agree with the idea, there won't be enough on board to make a noticeable dent in the takings. Empty seats are more noticeable
