City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

If it undermines the point we're trying to achieve to give a load of idiots a free hit than I care, yes.

As for the 9 minutes thing. If one of our players scores the goal of the season or there's a significant moment, red card, penalty etc I'd quite like to have been watching it. Personally I don't see the benefit of loads of blues missing out on watching the team. Good luck to those that decide to do it, but I won't be.
Fair enough. I don’t really get why you’re so bothered about what everyone else thinks. Surely it’s what city fans think that’s important right now.

It’s 9 minutes mate. You’ve got years to watch 9 more minutes. If you get priced out are you really going to be that bothered? Think about the bigger picture, rather than missing a goal or a penalty.

1894 mentioned they sent an email out to members yesterday. Protests have to start somewhere.

Boycotting 9mins of a game to stop your season ticket going up £50-£100 next year or making sure future generations of your family can afford to watch City seems like a decent trade off.

People are never going to agree but you have to start somewhere!

You're saying it's too harsh, others in this thread alone are saying it's not enough, some have said boycott the match, some have said walk out on 60. 9mins is a start.

It's took the threat of fan action now to arrange an emergency meeting on ticketing, 7 weeks after a fan letter that they didn't bother responding too.
It doesn't need to be nine minutes
Just don't take your seat for a couple of minutes
The teams will walk out to and kick off in front of a half empty stadium

How about getting in seats 10 minutes before, make some noise and stay 10 minutes after and make some noise. That would make more of an impression.

No-one buy a pint or programme. I am not missing a minute of a game thanks .
Have you seen the state of many of our fans?
Get in 10 minutes before? No chance.
Stay 10 minutes after? Around 30% never hear the full time whistle, unless there's a trophy to be presented in which case all their excuses/reasons suddenly disappear.
And no chance of either as our final five home games could well be evening games.

Yep, we are on the same page.

Again, the sentiment is the same, people would have moaned whatever the length. Ultimately though the fans have to do something if we want to keep hold of the club and the game.

Maybe 1894 can put a poll out to the members for follow up to this if the emergency meeting is a mess.

The 9 minutes represents the 9 online ticket touting companies City are using.

It was chosen for that reason.

I’ve missed loads for you, always got your back my fellow blue

The best thing about staying until the end and applauding the team, it's empty when we get out.
And we have a 2 to 3 hour journey home.

I don't disagree with the sentiment of protesting about costs.
But they can't be that expensive when people miss half the game for either;

Getting in late
Leaving for half time early
Coming back after half time late
Pissing off early after 80 minutes.

I'm not doing a 6 hour round trip to miss any part of the game.

maybe the main problem is this forum, it's a sub culture of 400 odd egos who don't realise that most people out there back this and loads will get involved

at some point some of you may need to think you have to sacrifice something to make a bigger point

otherwise. nothing. will. ever. change.

This is just feeding the monster, careful what you wish for. Man U fans turned against the club, but every other clubs’ fans will ignore that because we are the Champions of the last decade, so the press will feed on this and push the club’s reputation further into decline. Who knows? They might even listen.

TBH I don't think City fans are bothered about that anymore. It"s gone past that with Khaldoon and the Directors

The protests have to start somewhere and at some point.

Nobody is expecting 10,000's of City fans to stay on the concourse. Our support is to passive for that at the moment.

But it's better to do something and to protest, rather than do nothing.

If the Directors don't start listening to the fans, and start treating the fabs properly the protests will grow.
They need to grow too, but an invisible protest that absolutely none of those that matter will even be able to detect is happening is going to achieve nothing.

If we were going to get tens of thousands doing it, it would be visible, but English football fans are way too passive for this number to reach more than about 500, and there'll be about 5,000 trotting in late anyway, so even if it was visible, the club could simply bury it as a typical midweek traffic issue, mixed with it being a 7.45pm kick off against crap opposition in a crap season.

Protests don't necessarily have to start at the bottom and build to a crescendo at the point when somebody starts to realise that none of them actually care.

Interestingly, if things did escalate to people not buying tickets, City and Viagogo would be delighted, as it would ship tickets into Viagogo's hands so they can sell for a fat profit to somebody from the Far East.

The best protest for me would be for people with tickets not to turn up at all, but that won't happen because sacrifices are only going to go so far. In this case, people will only protest as long as that protest doesn't put themselves at risk or spoil anything for themselves unduly.

I've never been a fan of ultras movements, but it's in situations like this where they actually work. They can make a protest visible with just a few hundred taking part. Our support is such that you can't do it in the same manner.

Banners, flags, chants and a protest outside the Main Entrance and that might make them sit up a bit more, but walking in nine minutes late....

Exactly. So if a few hundred/thousand turn up nine minutes in, nobody will even notice there has been a protest.
The protests on the concourses will be filmed and uploaded to social media.

I really don't see what the issues or problems are.

There's absolutely no need to question it and to pick holes in it.

It's the first City fan protest inside the Etihad. That in itself is significant.

The replies to the nine minute protest on here and on social media just goes to show how fucked the English game is.

Football fans in this country are too selfish and too tribal to even make a visible stance and will continue to swallow the price rises year on year because of this attitude.

If you don't want to miss nine minutes of a game v Leicester in 2025 then you may be missing the full 90 minutes v Leicester in 2040 when you can no longer afford to go. Just think about that.

And before anyone replies with a smart arse comment about not watching the game for nine minutes is not going to make them reduce the prices, it won't, but it's a start and you will be actioning your displeasure at the way loyal football fans are treated in this country instead of sitting tight in your seat at the stadium, and moaning about it online which has fuck all effect.
