City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

The replies to the nine minute protest on here and on social media just goes to show how fucked the English game is.

Football fans in this country are too selfish and too tribal to even make a visible stance and will continue to swallow the price rises year on year because of this attitude.

If you don't want to miss nine minutes of a game v Leicester in 2025 then you may be missing the full 90 minutes v Leicester in 2040 when you can no longer afford to go. Just think about that.

And before anyone replies with a smart arse comment about not watching the game for nine minutes is not going to make them reduce the prices, it won't, but it's a start and you will be actioning your displeasure at the way loyal football fans are treated in this country instead of sitting tight in your seat at the stadium, and moaning about it online which has fuck all effect.
Correct.

There are too many City fans who want to pick holes in protest ideas straightaway.

What a photo: Lazio plays to near-empty Stadio Olimpico as fans protest club president

The fans have been angry with club president Claudio Lotito. Some of the folks who did attend the match voiced their displeasure with signs like “It’s him or us” or “Lazio is ours and we will leave it to our children,” according to a BBC report.

I’m seriously thinking of jacking it all in and leaving the game to the passive fans in the ground, the toxic fans on social media and the greedy fuckers in charge at the top.

I’ve seen us win trebles, four in a row, 100 points, world class players and managers, there’s nothing more I can see.

I just want to watch football with my kids and family/friends and I’m 99% towards realising that won’t be achievable at ‘Man City’ TM (C) (R)

But this is the point I was making in my last post.

If you want to make a protest, you have to go visible. Don't dip your toe in the water. Jump in.

The protests were effective when the Super League proposals came to light because there was a full-on nuclear response from football fans.

If you want the club to listen there are two methods that are going to make them sit up and take notice.

1) Get an angry protest going outside the Main Entrance before and after the games. We can't say for sure how things would have turned out without them but the protests that City fans made against chairmen in the 1990s were very visible and effective.

2) If you want an empty seats scenario, then you've got to go full-on and that is to not go to the game en-masse, at all. No support for 90 minutes. It's only one game. They can't take the season ticket off you for that.

However, this is where you sort the men from the boys. Ask people to miss out on ninety minutes and, unlike our European cousins, they won't do it.

If we want this protest to work, then we have to go nuclear, not throw a mud-pie over the garden wall.

The protests have to start somewhere and at some point.

Nobody is expecting 10,000's of City fans to stay on the concourse. Our support is to passive for that at the moment.

But it's better to do something and to protest, rather than do nothing.

If the Directors don't start listening to the fans, and start treating the fabs properly the protests will grow.
Why not ? Unless the 115 is announced or Wirtz is rolled out pre kick off, I can see a good number sitting out the 9 minutes. No doubt it could end up a damp squib, but it might also catch on

That might be happening as well?

I'm sure there are Lots of things being discussed between the fan groups.

I expect the protest information to be put out in due course across social media.

Then it's up to the fans to join in the protest.

That is where the real will and passion for a protest will be evident or not.

Details about the protest will to be put out across social media in due course I expect. There is a lot going on behind the scenes.

The directors and thevclub will be monitoring what's going on as best they can.

This is the first time the fans have protested on mass against Khaldoon and the directors since Sheikh Mansour bought the club.

Really? I don't think so.

Chris Miller, another company boss bullshitter.

In 2023 Viagogo's boss Cris Miller told the BBC lots of fans actually prefer buying on Viagogo instead of buying tickets directly for events, and that the company provides a "secure, safe transaction".

Yeah Chris, fans want to pay a 50+% booking fee. What a great ticket buying experience, Mr millionaire.

Unfortunately the club has been fully gentrified. they are only MANCHESTER City in name but they don't want anything to do with the Manchester people. hence why they are always in New York, Cape town, Tokyo etc wheeling out the premier league trophies. I might sound pessimistic but I don't see a way back.

BBC and the other platforms will comment if there's a protest and that puts added weight and pressure on the club.

If we do nothing they'll stick with their approach. I see the club haven't responded to the BBC in their research and article about this. The club will hope it blows over, a protest ensures it doesn't.

I agree with everything you say apart from the last sentence, should a tourist/day tripper, who I don't have an issue with, unless they wear an half n half scarf :) get the same perks as a loyal match going fan, I don't think they should, we've put hard yards in, through the ups and downs of which there's been many ( you may have done this, I don't know ) loyalty is being ignored by the club and fans are starting to feel a disconnect between them and the club.

Define hard yards mate? Again, only from personal experience but the hospitality type guys if you want the honesty finance the so called legacy fans who only want to turn up and have a half time pint? I’m 47 years of age by the year so not a youngster and my family originate from longsight before moving to the Isle of Man for business reasons. We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of pounds as a family alone in the last ten years doing flights, hospitality etc and make the most of it spending our time in the atmosphere and surroundings of the etihad etc? Tunnel club, chairman’s lounge etc just to watch games as apparently it’s sold out but seats empty on the day? The there are fans who opt out of cup competitions so someone had to use that seat? I do want to point out though that I do understand fans frustrations but literally throwing the ownership under the bus with walking out etc after the success we’ve had without taking time to try and engage will only open the club up to more ridicule? The rags, dippers etc would be applauded for it but we all know we won’t be and it will be a stick to beat the whole club including the fans with?

And if it does, I'll applaud them for that.

In all of this, what is being ably demonstrated at the moment is that there is a bigger discord between the club and boardroom level than there has been since Franny Lee was in charge.

I shudder to think how big that discord could be if we have a stack of guilty charges proven following the '115' hearing.

Unfortunately, football has changed and not for the better.

The Premier League is a monster and the clubs all know full well now that their biggest market isn't us. We're just numbers and if No.1 gets replaced by No.100,001, they're not arsed.

It all makes me appreciate the delights of VAR free, non-league football Saturdays when I haven't got the misfortune to have to go to a City home game. :-D

I agree with the protest but I would have gone for the Palace televised game instead.

Give more time to spread the word and a bigger impact with a worldwide TV audience watching.
It’s a start mate and hopefully gets bigger at each home game.

The club will be scratching round for some good news to throw out between now & then, announcing they’ve booked City matters in for a ‘we’ve already made a decision’ chat won’t be enough.
Spot on about the club, I watched big Steve’s latest video before, and he was quite open about being black balled, and more worrying for him, it seems a few stewards have been more than a little antagonistic towards him, when you pair that with all the bans & suspensions, and things like Man City tickets on twitter being targeted, it seems like they’re already targeting so called aggravators (in their eyes)
Some will say they saw all this coming, maybe I’m naive, but I honestly never thought it would come to this, although that Madrid game was a tipping point for me

Don’t jack it in mate, that’s what they want. Stick with it blue.

The problem for the directors will be evident on Wednesday. Thousands of empty seats all over the ground. With another 8000 seats to fill halfway through next season.

We’d better start winning again ‘cos the tourists aren’t coming to watch a losing team and as the Club have already indicated that season tickets are being capped at around 35000 thats a lot of tickets to shift.
Sod that. Let’s take a hit this season. Club are pure greedy selfish gobshites.

With respect mate, it’s the clubs lack of engagement that’s got us to this point
