This to me is a bigger issue than the pricing.Upsets me big time what the club have done in regards to pricing out our core support. We have definitely reached the tipping point now. In our group , we have gone from a solid group of 15 lads to 2 or 3 of us. Simply down to lads being priced out and lost the habit of going to games . Been listening to a few podcasts such as 93;30 and Ian Cheesenan talking about the situation and it breaks my heart out to listen about of all of the ‘good will’ from the likes of 1894 group , the foodbank and the likes of Alex from City matters and the club continue to ignore our pleas .
I can’t shake off my ritual of going games and luckily have a season ticket but I’m completely falling out of love with the whole game . The match day buzz has completely gone . Seeing memories pop up on my Facebook feed of City fans in Barcelona having a ball dancing in fountains and the first few trips to Wembley etc… them days just seem to have evaporated . Felt jealous watching the Geordies last week, just reminded me of the Stoke game . We’re still quite vocal in block 111 but it’s a shadow of its former self , the concourse used to always be bouncing with songs . Don’t even hear any songs being sang anymore even for Derby Day .
I can handle a bit of an increase in price (appreciate that some can not) but the sterile atmosphere we have is what will stop me going eventually.
I was sat at the Brighton game and said to the person next to me I could have watched it at home and it would have been exactly the same.
