Roll call for 9 minute protest

Ultimately the CEO of a company makes the decisions and runs the company. He or she runs the company for the owner. Most of the time the owner of the company doesn't interfere with the running of the company if they are with happy with how the company is being run.

I work for an American company. The main board of directors are in America. In the UK there is another board of directors that runs the UK part of the company. I have met the UK CEO.

Every now and again some of the American directors come over to the UK to see at first hand how the UK part of the company is doing.

The club new exactly who Soriano was and how he worked, they employed him for those reasons. Whatever the direction Soriano takes the club is the direction the owner wants the club to go. At least be honest enough if you want to blame the club then do it, not the somebody carrying out the what he was employed to do. Like I say using him as a shield.
Of course he instigates these things, probably anyway, but they don't happen without others approval.
What makes you think we're only targeting Soriano? Are you forgetting the letter that was addressed to Khaldoon from the 7 different fan groups?

We get it - you're not on board with any kind of protest whatsoever so you're just picking holes in it. You've made it clear for months on end that you're quite happy paying the prices you pay whenever you buy tickets and that's fine as you're entitled to your own opinion. But so are we so don't go constantly knocking those who aren't happy and want to do something about it. We're only trying to change things for the greater good and if we get some success then you'll be one of the beneficiaries.

Where there is a chairman they would certainly discuss and devise strategy with the CEO, with the latter responsible for implementing it.

City must have one the highest match day staff costs in the PL. The amount of hospitality staff, stewards, policing is insane.

To get to my seat I get scanned by a steward(1). Outside the turnstile there is another steward.(2) On the inside of the turnstile there are 2 stewards.(4) At the entrance to block 115 there can be up to 6 stewards checking season tickets on mobile phones.(10) Then there are stewards just stood around infront of the metal barrier on the concourse that separates the home and away fans.(15)

As for the amount of hospitality staff for the Tunnel Club and other hospitality areas, I can only imagine.

Of course they would. Khaldoon knows what's going on. Khaldoon is happy for Soriano to keep on running the club his way.

Don't forget, Soriano ran Barcelona, and was head hunted by Mansour and Khaldoon for that reason, and because he is a very successful business man, and a football industry leader.

That's not to say Khaldoon and Mansour won't discuss issues with Soriano when they all meet up at the end of the season, or via a video link.(115, etc)

Ultimately Soriano makes the day to day decisions on the running of the club, and the buck stops with HIM.

Whilst I respect and indeed share some of the opinions of the fan groups, I won’t be taking part in the protest.
Each to their own is my view. If you want to stay on the concourse then you’re perfectly entitled to, if you want to take your seat, likewise.
We could end up, in fact we’re already on the way, with a completely divided fan base just at a time when the players/managers need us on the pitch and the Club needs us off it.
The red shirt fawning media will be reading this thread, looking on social media and rubbing their grubby hands together.
Hopefully the Club are transparent and lay their cards down on the table very soon, whether through City Matters, other fan groups or directly to all members and season ticket holders and then we can have a more informed conversation around,
- season ticket pricing 25/26
- third party ticket sales
- club allocated tickets for home and away games
- new North Stand pricing and consequences for existing NS season ticket holders and potential new season ticket holders
To name but a few of the ticketing issues that are currently ongoing.
In the meantime I’ll carry on cheering on the boys in blue, loud and proud, just as always.

You've just explained exactly why the buck doesn't stop with him.

Obviously each to their own however some of the "No's" in this thread and their justifications of such are very, very disheartening. A real shame.

Please join in if you can; the greater good etc.

I'm not a NO.

There will always be no"s. There will always be City fans who are happy with how the club is being run regardless of obvious issues affecting the fans. Let those fans think and believe that, that's their choice. We have enough support and continue to gain support for our protest, and the valid reasons for the protest. .

Cast your mind back a few years. If you DARED to criticise the club on Blue Moon you were in the minority, you were an ungrateful bastard, you were a moaning ****, and you got absolutely slaughtered. Now that minority has become the overwhelming majority.

Yes it does. Soriano makes the daily decisions and the running of City along with the board. Just like the UK CEO of the company I work for.. Mansour and Khaldoon won't interfere with Soriano's running of City unless they feel they specifically have to, which thinking back, probably hasn't happened often, if at all? The season ticket price freeze for one season??

It isn't just like the company you work for, no football club is just like any normal business. Khaldoon will be very much involved in those decisions.

What’s the alternative though? Don’t go to the game? give up your season ticket? Just accept it?

Lots of fan protests are held during the match. This might not do anything, but it’s worth a try
Simplest alternative which would support the players but hit those in charge of finances would be to boycott all merchandise on Wednesday. No programmes, no food or drink, avoid the club shop.
That would have a huge impact as they’d lose revenue and also have goods that are no longer of any use to them as the next home game is 10 days after.

Currently 3,263 showing as available on the site for Wednesday - a few thousand blues joining in will make this really noticeable

*TONGUE IN CHEEK TIME @jrb*
Now it is the ones who dare to disagree with the supporter groups or at least certain ones of them who get that treatment. :-) :-) (not you @jrb which is why I said tongue in cheek.... x

There are still 309 seats for sale in....

That's a clear indicator as to what has happened, and what is continuing to happen to our fan base.

When the tourists aren't interested the match, and our local support isn't either, the directors should be worried.

TBH I think it's been a good discussion with both sides making valid points.

Ultimately it's down to the person whether they are going to suppythe protest or not.

The story of fans walking in on 9 mins would have barely got a paragraph in the press regardless of any Haaland story being offered.
It was literally on the back page of the country's biggest newspaper and a rolling story in the biggest sports news channel

That’s part of it and there are already some next steps for protest in place:

And which part of our City do you want back.

I’d love to have the Lee, Bell and Sumerbee era back or the Tony Book 1970’s team….. but let’s not forget how City were run for 30 years with Swales in charge or the nearly bankrupt times when we dropped down the divisions (although I enjoyed the visits to stadiums I have never visited before) or the awful football under Pearce when Samaras was our main hope and we didn’t score at home after Christmas.

Be careful what you wish for……having said that I respect anyone’s choice to either join the protest or disregard !
