Roll call for 9 minute protest

Ask the fans protesting at those clubs about the way their clubs are being run.

Ultimately yes. But Khaldoon gives Soriano and the board a free hand. Khaldoon isn’t running the club on a daily basis in Manchester, Soriano and the directors are. Khalddon is too busy looking after his own and Abu Dhabi’s affairs. City are a small part of that.(ask Donald Trump) Khaldoon will be updated about City on a regular basis by Soriano and the board via personal meetings and video calls. Khaldoon will be involved in the important issues like 115.

You’re right. Soriano was hired to do that. Be successful on the pitch and to win trophies. To drive and to increase match day revenue. He has done that. He wasn’t hired to alienate the club’s local and legacy support. And to dismantle it. He could have done the first two without doing the 3rd. He and the board between them decided to do the 3rd.

If I saw Soriano tomorrow, amongst many questions, I’d ask him why there are still over 3000 unsold seats for the Leicester game. And if he is bothered about that with another 8000 seats to sell halfway through next season?
He is the Chairman of the board so will be at every board meeting and very much part of the board.

Is City Matters a waste of time?
Is the letter from the fan groups a waste of time?
Have the protest banners been a waste of time?
Are 3000+ seasts still unsold for the Leicester game a waste of time?
Etc.
You maybe right as Khaldoon and the directors clearly aren't interested with what the fans concerns are, or what the fans have to say.
But at least Khaldoon and the directors now know.
And they will know even more on Wednesday.
Trust me, they will be waiting for the fans reaction with interest.
So no, the protest isn't a waste of time.
Trust me it is.

He could cut that 8000 to 4000 by issuing them as season tickets

They are all at least partial owners and arguably closer to Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon's leadership of City. Soriano deserves his share of criticisms when mistakes are made, as do the people above and below him in City's hierarchy. They also share the credit when things go well as hopefully will be the case from the 115/130 hearing.

Regarding the 3,000 empty seats for the Leicester game that you asked me about. There are many factors including disgruntled fans, unexpected match losses /no battle for the League, affordability, midweek match, poor transport, increased parking charges, ageing fanbase, unlimited season ticket transfers/listings, limited pool of resale buyers etc.

I've shared my ideas for growing a more sustainable fanbase before including resurrecting the Junior Blues, discounted family tickets, coaching local schools /colleges to apply for the heavily discounted tickets, cheaper L3 ticket etc.

almost all of them listed above are club owners. Why is it we want Soriano’s head on a spike yet not a peep over our owners like fans of every other club go for.

If we want to have a protest go for the owners. The buck stops with them not fucking Soriano.

If you want to organise a protest then aim it at Abu Dhabi. Grow a pair of balls and go for those at the top.

But it’s much easier to blame Soriano and Co and not say a word about Khaldoon or Mansour.

You put it better than me. He’s done a great job on certain fronts but he could’ve achieved it without the need to piss off the core fanbase into the bargain.

I’ve mentioned Khaldoon on numerous occasions. And Mansour.

Let’s see what Khaldoon addresses via his end of season PR video.

Those at the top, Mansour and Khaldoon know about the fan discontent. Khaldoon has mentioned it himself.(reported in the MUEN) The protest isn’t aimed a Soriano solely, it’s at the club, and at our owner.

Ultimately, if fans protest about the way they are being treated, they are protesting to the owner of the club about that. Mansour could step in and stop this straightaway.

Exactly.

Nobody can fault what Soriano has overseen on the pitch and how he has driven the clubs revenue as a whole. But his handling of the local and legacy fan base has been utterly dreadful and continues to be.

Probably won’t even know. Couple hundred people late in their seats and 38 pages on Bluemoon is hardly going to be top of the agenda when he gets back from the White House.

You have mate so his comments on that are off beam. Also, people are forgetting that the letter signed by 7 different fan groups was addressed to Khaldoon himself. One of the things it highlighted were Khaldoon’s own comments last year about striking a balance on ticket prices.

Yes I don’t get the obsession with Soriano. He’s doing the job he was hired to do. Just like Danny Wilson and Roel de Vries are. Khaldoon calls the shots.
Tim, sorry that’s bollox. Khaldoon doesn’t micro manage. He leave the day to day running of the club’s finances to Soriano and the rest of the executive. They are the ones who make the decisions
