Roll call for 9 minute protest

He said for most Premier League matches, not all of them. And he's right - the majority of league games this season has had the cheapest adult match day tickets priced at over £60. Palace a week on Saturday is £61, for example. Of course, Palace returned the top tier and they went on sale for £30 but all match day tickets in the designated home areas apart from the returned visitors section are priced at £61 minimum
The average prices for children this season is £35. How can people afford that.

Don't try guilt tripping me - and get your facts straight. The trouble with posts like this is that they are based on what YOU think are facts. For example,
you have decided I have a concessionary ticket (and so have a biased view) - WRONG
you have decided I can't spare 9 minutes to "demonstrate" - WRONG I obviously am not allowed a different view to you

all I have heard today on the media is:
the apparent 'joy' that Haaland is out and we are unlikely to qualify for CL
that the fans are planning a protest about prices (& there is no balance here by stating that other fans are doing the same)

We are the club the media love to slate and in my opinion - if I'm allowed to to have one - is that just now is the time to support the team

Honestly mate, you've mentioned the media a few times now, with regards to this issue who gives a fuck what they think. Who cares if rival fans shout empty seats etc...This is about getting better rights for the fans.

You state 'this is the time to support the team', when is it never?
The team has had endless support for years on years, so has the club, the players, the manager, the owners.

How about a little support for the fans?

So you're preaching that match going fans back the team to get back into the Champions League next season at the cost of being able to afford to go themselves next season?

Genius.

I want us back into he CL and winning but I also want to be able to afford going for the next 20-30 years and so on.

I tell you what, if winning tomorrow mattered so much to the club, Pep etc... then why are the tickets stupidly overpriced again. Why is it £53 to sit in the Colin Bell stand, why are there 3500 unsold tickets for a must win game?

Of course the team and Pep need our support but the fans also need the support of the club with sensible ticketing policies. This is a 2 way relationship and it's not the fans letting the club down right now.
Ermmmm how about protesting before and after the game or in any way that doesn’t affect support for the team.

You seem to think this 9 minute stunt is the only way to protest. The organisers had 2 choices - one which affects the team and one that doesn’t. They have chosen both.

It’s not the teams fault so why do something that affects support.

And if you think not qualifying for champs league is a consequence worth paying - then good luck getting cheaper tickets when there is a £125m non CL money black hole in the accounts with a squad with the highest wage bill that needs about 6 new players in the Summer !

Actually, there are two protests tomorrow. There's also one outside the main entrance at 7pm so if you would like to join in - after all, it's before the game so won't encroach on your red lines about protesting during the game - then feel free to do so. If you don't want to join in the 9 minute protest after kick-off that's fine, but I'm looking forward to seeing you at the pre-game protest.

You've just ignored the fact that there is a 7pm peaceful protest outside the Colin Bell statue, again. Will you attend that with us all?

So again, while you're accusing others of being wrong, you can't accept you were wrong
If it makes you happy - I'm wrong to want to go to the match on Wednesday night when we have got major injury problems: lack of confidence and the NEED to win to get into the CL next season - which is something I rate as being important.
I'm wrong perhaps, but I want to support the team when they really need it. The players need it and the Media need to see it. However, I'm sure the media will be all over the protest so you'll get the negative publicity you want

So everyone keeps saying but I don't think our club is as bad as other top teams in terms of ticket availability and prices - We expect top players; a great stadium with Maine road prices
We are as bad, maybe worse. You can watch a game at The Emirates, or Anfield, for significantly less than an equivalent ticket for a game at The Etihad. Prices seem to be made up from game-to-game.

We've been insulated to a large degree by success on the field, and the club executives have taken advantage. It's a bit like the analogy of boiling a frog. There may not be a noticeable impact in the early stages but at some point the frog is going to suddenly realise it's in trouble. And by then it's too late.
