Roll call for 9 minute protest

I know it's easy to say ignore him because I'm shit at following my own advice on that but it's worth noting that he's not offering up this viewpoint in anything like good faith due to the fact that he has a track record of forever trolling on threads like this.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion of course but there seems to be a clique of people on this thread who are happy to anonymously spout off from behind their keyboards and not have the balls to say those same things in person to the people who will be protesting tonight. If those people were truly interested in finding out a bit more about what's going on instead of simply running off at the mouth and spouting vitriol, they would've read and digested the excellent post from @BertM19 that covers pretty much every aspect of the discontent amongst a growing number of fans. Or they may come over to the main entrance tonight and have a chat with some of the people who will be getting involved in order to better educate themselves. But certain people aren't interested in that one bit. They'll be happy to accept any price freeze/decrease that might come about as a result of this action though.
Have i said that? Educate me ? Please, grow up, my beef is the price of kids tickets, thats what we should demonstrate about first, other legitimate gripes, yes, but fuck me how many have people got!
It's never ending!

I was chatting to a mate yesterday whose season ticket is in SSL3. He doesn't get his ticket checked by stewards when going from the concourse to his seat. So why do we get checked in SSL115 ? Do only a handful of blocks have this ridiculous second check ? Being in 115 I just see mayhem after 9 minutes if hundreds are then trying to get to their seats at the very same time and the hi viz jacketed power crazy stewards are trying their best to piss everyone off by this additional check of your ticket....
Was never ever checked in all the years of family stand lvl2 or since we moved over to 316

Sensible remarks imo.
I have written to the club re younger fans and prices.
I also would pay more, as a foc, I don't pay enough.
The protesters would be better served coming into the ground early, and organising a protest. In the concourse dri king beer, smoking in the loos is hardly a thought out project.
Agree 100%

Again you seem unable to distinguish between 2 different things. Not sure why it isn't difficult to understand.

If you believe what you are typing you are part of the problem, read my post it's factual and correct.

Why aren't you supporting people with matchday memberships but tourists who get their tickets from 3rd party sites?

The City fans that don't know or who aren't on social media a lot probably would support this, but there are some who wont support it because of one reason and one reason only.

This thread is littered with clues, from blues who are only blues from a certain perspective.
3,2,1 dusty bin ?

They are concessions, club wouldn't lose a penny if nobody bought a single thing tonight
I didn't know that mate..but if fans don't buy then the concessions will close and the club will lose money from that as I'm sure the concessions pay for the privilege of being inside the ground.

I'm happy to pay an increase on my season ticket if it meant that individual match day tickets were lower and kids tickets even lower.
Just because I won't join in the protest doesn't mean I don't care about the issues being raised but I think the only way the club take real notice is if everyone boycotts food and drinks and buying stuff from the club owned store on match days.
I hope the protest goes well and I hope it has the desired effect but I honestly don't believe it will.
So you’re broadly supportive which is great.

But you don’t think it will work… because people like you who are broadly supportive won’t join.

And you won’t join in because it’s not the exact protest that you would have organised.

You’ve also got the choice between pre match, 9 minutes or both. And you won’t join any of them.

We have all witnessed nothing but pure joy these last 10 -12 years, and with that comes the scenarios of what the club decides to do, good or bad, but let's all be honest here for a sec, if the majority are happy to have seen, been, and witnessed what has happened on the pitch, also known on here as "enjoying the ride", then it's done.

Nothing left to see what City achieve in years to come will surpass what we have seen, could equal it of course but not beaten.

There has been no claims to protest or kick off when things have been as good as they have been, but the season we have a downturn things start happening like this, call it coincidence I'm not sure, but my perspective is simple, as I'm getting too old now to care about the politics of a football club, or should I say business.

I've only been interested in what happens on the pitch, yes I have a season ticket, yes I've been going for years, yes I can afford it (DD monthly by the way).

If most are thinking to themselves, but yea wait till we go shit again, the club will suffer then, then so be it I say, not a lot we can do, but as long as we are performing and winning whatever we can that makes me quite content.

I'm not a Mancunian myself, but worked in the area most of my life, and I get what it means for people who cannot attend due to pricing, I really do, but as I said earlier this is a business now, as it is for them all.

We all would go to Lidl for a shop before Sainsburys, that's the way we are and been brought up, but for quality I'm afraid it comes at a cost.
So it doesn't impact on you what is happening at the club so you are ok, that's fine. Do what works for you. Don't complain at others who have had enough.

Mate I've not told anyone not to participate in the protest..I fully respect everyone who is but I don't think it will have much of an impact to be honest.
I hope it does have an impact but my gut feeling is that boycotting food and drink would have more of an impact.
As for hostility I've not been hostile to anyone but some of the ones who want to protest have called the non protesting fans boot lickers..akin to the Nottingham miner scabs ..not caring about other fans etc.
My feelings on match day ticket prices are the same as they always have been..I feel they are scandalous and way out of line with regards to our local fan base ( earnings and cost of living included).
I also said that as a season ticket holder I would be willing to have an increase in costs if it lowered the match day prices for fans especially for younger fans.
I hope the protest has the desired effect that you and others hope for but I still stand by my reasoning that boycotting food and drink will have more impact as the club are more interested in financial gain than anything else.

That will have an impact and I hope everyone boycotts the food and drink too. Absolutely pointless if we don't and it will be annoying fans stood in the concourses, proving a point but downing pints and putting pounds in pockets. I'm not saying you personally have been hostile, a few people who aren't partaking (which is fine) seem to preach to others what we should/shouldn't do.

Tonight is a visual protest for the suits to see how many of us are pissed off. They can see it from the seats being empty, I agree about not buying food and drink and as said I hope many follow that as well. Something has to be done and if this is the start of a bigger story in venting our feelings then so be it.

Having 4 kits a season affects City fans
WHY ?
It doesn't affect me or anyone else who is a City fan, aslong as one doesn't pay a stupid price for a clothes item that looks silly on most people.
If someone can afford to waste money on a replica shirt please don't cry Wolf over the price of a ticket.
I have never bought one, good luck to those who can afford them, I can't.

Not really relevant, IMO

Just trying to be divisive? IMO :0)

They wish to protest against the Club’s Management :0)
Whichever side of the fence or even on it you sit on it I think it is relevant, suggesting that 69 out of 70 match goers are staying out until 7.54 is great but it (un)intentionally gives the impression that as a random sample almost everyone will be joining in.

Sensible remarks imo.

You won’t be forced to drink beer and smoke in the toilets if you protest.

I am a Matchday ticket buyer thanks, and have issues with how they are sold and prioritised. I never mentioned 3rd party sites, which should be hospitality areas only.
My problem is only you lumping in the 'day tripper ' visiting our club who should be welcomed with away supporting fans in home blocks who should be stopped. It isn't the same thing and shouldn't be treated as the same thing.

The blocks in SSL1 near the away fans are over-occupied, the club knows this so has to make a token effort, and fans end up walking across blocks without checks to get there.

Shouldn’t the shirts be an affordable price so you have the choice whether to buy them or not? They cost a couple of pounds to manufacture.

The first set of Umbro shirts were £30 each when the Sheik first took over. The designs were the best we’ve ever had as the fans were consulted over their designs.

Why? Because then come costs. Clearly you don't have kids and you have the alright jack attitude. That is sound, but fuck off from telling others what we should and shouldn't think. 4 kits a season is a disgrace, we have had them the last 3 years with this year being the only season we actually used the 4th in a match.

When you visit the stadium for a one time only in the home end and scream when the opposition score you're a tourist.

When you visit the stadium one time only because you are a City fan and scream when City score you're not a tourist you're a City fan.

It's not fucking hard.
