Roll call for 9 minute protest

Decent uptake of people participating in the South Stand and plenty of people on the concourse. Hard to gauge really, but when I walked out I felt it maybe wasn't the same levels of participation elsewhere?

My mate came last night and its only his second game this season and even he joined in. Told him there was no need for him to get involved and miss a decent chunk of the game when he doesn't come that often and he used the word 'solidarity' which I thought was quite nice.

Seemed a decent turnout on north stand level 1 with a good mix of old and young.
My lads (20 and 17) weren't arsed at first, but after I told them the tales of the Swales out campaign and the fun and games that brought they were on board !
Forward with 1894 !!!

You know the most important thing about this protest? It wasn't that Soriano will now have to take notice. He is a ****, he won't care.

But it involved enough people, and was well enough explained in media and commentary, to be absolutely noticable to anyone watching in, say, Abu Dhabi and for them to understand what it was about.

My problem with the previous steps taken was that they wouldn't be seen by anybody that actually counts. This one will be. So well done to all involved.

I still live in the hope that the owner and Khaldoon, as his board representative, have so far had no idea of the strength of feeling of the fans on atmosphere, season tickets and pricing and that, if they did, they would do something about it. No room for any more doubt. If there is no reaction from the club in the next couple of weeks, if not the meeting tomorrow, then we will know it's not just Soriano and I, for one, will be very, very disappointed.
Wasn't on sky or tnt sports so nobody in Abu Dhabi could watch it
:)

I was sceptical last week when it was first mooted because I thought the club wouldn't be arsed where fans were as long as the ticket money had been paid. I live in East Yorkshire and get back when I can so watched it on the telly last night. I have to say - I 100% support the cause and after being negative towards the type of protest last week, hold my hands up and can say I was proud of fellow blues and the visual impact it had last night.

Well done everyone involved and good luck to City Matters today.

i think a good next step would be multiple protest banners in every stand, a dozen, make a real fuss of them being confiscated. All unfurled at once at 5 mins to kick off.

and well done to good numbers taking part against Leicester. If it needs to be done again, so be it.

My only disappointment, I was hoping it would give the atmosphere a bit of a kick but besides the usual lot stood at the back of 314/15 it never really got going. That said I guess the clubs ticketing policy is partially to blame for that too, 313 sold out at £30 a ticket, the rest of the stand at £61 half empty. This happened last year vs Burnley in midweek and they didn't see the obvious (Considering they are considered intelligent people, bit strange) so hopefully the protest will give them food for thought.

I think we should be proud that such a short notice protest had such a large uptake in participation.

Hopefully it has an impact, if it doesn’t let’s build it into a movement. There’s evidently a lot of support for it, can clearly see how many are fed up with our boardroom and how they treat us, and it will grow.

I’ve said in the last few years that I’ve never felt more detached from the club, they came out and said recently that ‘99% of our fans are outside of Manchester so we need to find ways to engage with them as well, delivering the best fan experience possible’ - they think core supporters are the 1% and they display an attitude towards us that we are 1% important, I don’t feel like the club want us.

But I’m not going to let them beat me, and if that means years of further protests, then I’m up for that.

It certainly had an impact well done to all who joined in, but the demo outside before the game when fans were singing we want our city back, really now that was shite, I personally hope we don't get the old city back.
If it meant the next generation of blues could go i’d take it. It’s not all about winning.

I know winning stuff is nice but as you say it's not much good winning stuff if you're not able to go and enjoy seeing it.

I have had the feeling that the club wins stuff for itself and it's staff and JUST to push the brand with the fans as a secondary thought, it isn't a pleasant feeling.

A weird thing has happened to me since the match last night. I've probably had an apathy towards the race for the Champions League because I've always felt we'll be alright. I checked the league table this morning and realised that Newcastle and Chelsea will go above us if they win their games in hand. I immediately felt nervous about qualifying for the Champions League. Within half an hour though, another feeling came over me. I thought that missing out and spending a season in the Europa League would probably send the clearest signal to the club that they need us. I can't imagine the tourists paying through the nose on Viagogo for Rapid Vienna, Legia Warsaw and PAOK at home.

The club doesn’t give a shit for foc’s that’s why I fuked my season ticket off a few seasons ago……
