Roll call for 9 minute protest

A weird thing has happened to me since the match last night. I've probably had an apathy towards the race for the Champions League because I've always felt we'll be alright. I checked the league table this morning and realised that Newcastle and Chelsea will go above us if they win their games in hand. I immediately felt nervous about qualifying for the Champions League. Within half an hour though, another feeling came over me. I thought that missing out and spending a season in the Europa League would probably send the clearest signal to the club that they need us. I can't imagine the tourists paying through the nose on Viagogo for Rapid Vienna, Legia Warsaw and PAOK at home.

I couldn't make the game last night (I can't do midweek games) so stood in the hall until the 10th minute before I took my seat in front of the TV.

Seriously though, the foreign commentary was knowledgeable about the reasons for the protest and reported them well. Well done everyone for taking part. It far surpassed what I expected the impact to be.

Can I just say thanks to everyone who took part last night. For something that was organised at relatively short notice it went better than I hoped. Good numbers outside the main entrance beforehand and loads of media were there doing interviews, etc, which set the tone. Fans walking up and stopping to see what it was all about who might not have previously been aware of it. All good natured and no animosity. The most negative comment I heard was one bloke walking past saying something about flogging a dead horse which is hardly incendiary.

I was expecting maybe 2000-3000 people to join in with the concourse protest and I’d have been happy with those numbers for what was an opening salvo. What happened far exceeded my expectations and it wasn’t just the South Stand either. Every part of the stadium chipped in and did their bit.

We now await the outcome of today’s meeting between the club and City Matters. Hopefully there will be no need for further action but if the club still don’t listen then this will snowball.

It was a great effort last night but for this to be truly meaningful it should continue at home games until the issues are sorted.
Perhaps 10 minutes next time, then 11 at the following game, and so on.

That 90th minute protest was pretty impressive as thousands upped and left as soon as the 4th official held up the stoppage time board. It's possible the announcement woke them up.

Well done blues, I was a bit annoyed looking round at everyone in the concourse, and most of them drinking pints and putting money back into the club but you can't have it all. Hopefully it results in positive talks today. If it doesn't then I feel it might get quite toxic in the stands moving forwards.

Well done to all involved. I didn't partake because I had my lad with me and he told me he wanted to watch the game. But it looked great and there must have been 8-10000 who joined in with it

CM should be saying they won't accept any NDA-type arrangement at least in respect of the fans' issues. Fans need to know what is happening. If the club doesn't agree, walk out .....

I think that's just a couple of posters speculating. What would be the point of a fans' representative group if the fans aren't allowed to know what's said?

On a night game a lot of people have had to come straight from work, battle through traffic and have no choice but to eat and drink at the stadium as there's no time to go anywhere else. Might be different for Palace.

That's my thinking too mate, if they are signing NDA's then it's just lip service they are providing.

For full transparency (quite apt given the subject), all representatives sign an agreement with the Club at the start of each season which in essence constitutes an NDA.

That’s fairly standard practice, particularly across the Premier League and other Fan Advisory Boards. However, Clubs need to accept that a certain element of information sharing is vital. I suspect they will emphasise the NDA card this evening but will do my best to share what I can.

Agree there looks fake. He repeats the exact words and no one takes any notice of him. No agenda items either, a hatchet job , to make the Chairman look a very ineffective leader who babbles on and gets ignored.

Can you prove that it's fake mate? I've got it on pretty good authority that it was leaked by someone at the club

Thought visually it was very effective as anyone watching on TV couldn’t help but ask what the hell was going on with the crowd. Especially with the early goal which meant it was visible on any highlights programme.
