Leicester City (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I never get the level of moaning. Enjoy the night out, meet with friends, get behind the team have a couple of beers, talk shite, have a laugh, watch the football. Even better, we won. Your life will be so much better.
There was a bloke a few rows behind me who sounded like he was gonna give himself an aneurysm during the second half. Right at the end, when McAtee ran through and Savinho slipped, he screeched at the top of his lungs "OH MY GOD, SOMEONE HAVE A FUCKING SHOT!!!!!" There was another moment when Marmoush went after a lost cause, won it, and kept possession by nudging it back to Nunes - he got a big round of applause for his effort. The bloke's response was to shout "Why are you all clapping that? Don't applaud him for passing backwards!" And when the board went up for three added minutes he complained about us being forced to watch the game, as if he was strapped to his seat and couldn't fuck off whenever he liked. He's sat behind me for 15 years and has done nothing but complain ever since he first arrived. Me and my mum still call him Vieira Man because that was the first thing we ever heard him shout - "Ohhhh Vieira, man" - while having a moan about something Patrick Vieira had done wrong. He's spent years yelling at Joe Hart, Costel Pantilimon, Willy Caballero, Claudio Bravo, Ederson, Zack Steffen, and Stefan Ortega to "CATCH IT!" whenever they punch it clear. I wouldn't mind but I've never once heard him compliment any of the players, I've never seen him celebrating goals as wildly as he chastises mistakes, and through all the trophies we've won I've never heard him express his delight... at anything. Every game I try to tell myself, "Maybe he's just had a bad week". I'm starting to think he's just an angry misanthrope who takes his aggrievances out on his football team. It stops me from saying anything to him.

I only watched the second half. I wonder if the players enjoy playing because its definitely not enjoyable to watch.

Barring the rags lowly league position and arse faĺling by the wayside, you are right, it has been a poor season.
The PL has been very stop/start this season due to the new format chumps league and the crappy international break.
Oh for the time when the Nations league and the (just about tolerable) Euros didn't exist.
All these interruptions have led to injuries and inconsistent form at PL level imo.

Yes I have never known so many international breaks, they are a bloody menace and have totally disrupted everybody's rhythm and season. The only team to have maintained any sort of consistency are Liverpool and as a result they are strolling the league. When you see a very limited Forest side third then you can see how far the rest have dropped off.
Entertainment wise I can barely remember many good games for us. Newcastle, Ipswich and Forest at home, Chelsea away and after that I'm struggling.
The rags struggle has been hilarious but recently there are signs they are starting to improve their performances without getting results.
For us we need at least three top quality additions to be anywhere near competing at the top next season.

Edited to add I've just seen Peps post match press conference and even he mentioned how cold it was lol!

The lack of posts in this thread and the player performance threads show what a dull game it was

Hopefully we’re back on it Sunday like in the 2nd half against Bournemouth

Not a great performance, but 3 points in the bag.
My biggest gripe of the night, went for my usual night game pre match meal, pudding chips n gravy from Mr Macs chippy, the que was horrendous, all the way around the corner, time wasn't on our side, son suggested we try the maine road chippy, que was OK and tea purchased, wish we hadn't bothered, fucking shite, if chippy's were in a league table, maine road chippy would be relegation fodder, a mistake I won't be making again.

He really wasn't.
Agreed.
He lost possession and misplaced passes on more than occasion.

He's bang average for this team tbh.
Had we better options, he wouldn't get a foot on the pitch.

Don't think McAtee has got what it takes to make it at City but I've still got faith in Lewis and O'Reilly. But still, having all three of them on the pitch felt brilliant last night. And without Haaland, De Bruyne, and Rodri, last night felt like a big vision of the future. With Savinho, Doku, Marmoush, O'Reilly, etc. in the XI, there were lots of untested partnerships on the pitch last night and we got through the game in second gear while getting a little glimpse at years to come. Reis coming on at the end definitely added to that feeling as well, even if he didn't touch the ball.

Against United

Ederson
O'Reilly
Guardiol
Dias
Khusanov
Nico
Gundo
Jack
Marmoush
Kev
Bernie

I don’t wanna see Bernardo or Kevin starting. Why do we do that to ourselves? Just keep the same squad. They don’t offer us anything . No reason not to start Doku and Savinho again against a opposition that won’t just sit back

I would like more control and possession. Doku in particular gave the ball away countless times last night. United are better at transitions than Leicester. Kevin is rested and I think he still has a big game left in him. Bernie always raises his game against United and Liverpool.

No you're not. Doku was excellent last night
As someone that really rates him I actually thought he was a bit below par, although he was making the right decisions in terms of when to recycle the ball and when to attack, in this case things weren't quite coming off for him like they normally do. Thought Savinho was a bigger threat.

But yeah, I prefer watching us with them in the team.
