President Trump

All be better when big Nige takes the reigns won’t it.

Let’s hope Labour fucking Starmer and Reeves off pronto means we finally start to see the change from Tory policies the country voted for last year and we won’t have to face the thought of Nige.

Daily Hatemail or Torygraph?
I read it in the Guardian. I wrote it not as a political statement but as a way of showing the rich get richer with these decisions.
The suggestion is the money men who run stock and shares have quietly pushed for this. They need people to invest, usually through brokers (so it costs more) in stocks and shares.
The reason for my post is because of Trump, he isn't despite what people think, an idiot. Him and his mates are getting rich off the turmoil and shares have nose dived. If Reeves is going to slash ISA's pushing people into shares is a very risky strategy

The rich already own most of the market.
Nobody is getting rich off a 10% stock market crash.
The man, is in fact, just an idiot.

Isn't the argument that if you'd put £1k into a cash investment 25 years ago, you'd have about £2k now. If you'd put it in a shares tracker, you'd have £3-5k? It's more risky, but anyone with a pension will likely have most of their money in stocks rather than cash already.

It's also relative for "rich". At the moment you can put £20k in a cash ISA each year. Very few people can use them to anything like that level. The cash part could be reduced to just a few thousand a year, and still not be fully used by 95% of the country. If anything the current system is already very much skewed towards the rich.

I don't pretend to be a financial wizard but if he is just an idiot, he is being manipulated by the rich. You don't get to be POTUS without very rich backers and they have their reasons why he is in charge

One hope I have is that Britain sees how this idiot operates and rejects Farage.

This is mostly true however he is also very close with Musk who is the king of Pump and Dump.

If you know market moves, up or down, ahead of the market then you can make a boat load of money. This is especially true with Crypto where a small band of influencers have huge amounts of influence. There is strong evidence that Musk has been involved in some pump and dump of bitcoin and doge coin. If you accept that he is heavily involved with Pump and Dump his take over of Twitter makes perfect sense.

The Trump crash is an opportunity for short sellers. Anyone who new what and when ahead of time was able to make money. That knowledge is worth hundreds of millions. Would Trump accept money in exchange for information, or even to take instructions? Of coarse he would, its exactly the kind of thing Trump would do.

Who is it who started prattling on about Labour on the Donald Trump thread?
Again.
If you’re struggling with the answer, check the mirror.
Well just reacting to an opinion that Gold is going to be the reserve currency of the future over the US$ and that we haven't got much given the fact that half our gold reserves were sold when the market was at its lowest..

In 1999, one of the most significant and controversial financial decisions in British history took place. The Labour Party, under Chancellor Gordon Brown, initiated the sale of nearly half of the United Kingdom's gold reserves at a time when gold prices were near a multi-decade low.

A useful article..

I'm not financially clever. The answer I would give is there must have been a valid reason why it was raised to that level in the first place.
I was always told that any money invested in stocks and shares had to be left for 7 years.
All I want is a Chancellor who makes honest decisions that are good for workers.

His backers are white Christian nationalists who would like to build an isolationist and Christian fundamentalist nation. Basically, Iran for Christians. That these backers are rich is a given, but I think ideology rather than money is the driving force

news from China

You need to educate yourself before commenting on such matters. I suggest you start with the UK Current Account. Then you might know a little about trade figures.
All these accounts are notional but are used by the treasury to inform policy.
Sorry, but without that knowledge you are talking nonsense. Stop doubling down on it. Do you know the difference between a balance sheet and a P&L?

A 60 second A level primer on our ‘current account’ deficit. Just what I needed to watch over my boiled egg and toast. It is good to see that these notional figures are used to inform policy.
