All who come to support City are welcome imho, if new seaon tickets were introduced and many in our large asian both south and east asian communities were takers up and regulars, then they are a welcome part of the city family, non city fans oniy there for selfies or away fans now they are what we don't need or want

That being said, it's obviously a snide comment tinged in racism although I won't go as far as to label it racist as we cannot read the posters mind.

I've said multiple times over the years it's not the fault of the foreign daytrippers when we see them at high profile away games, they've paid vastly more money than I will have done to be at that game and fair play to them for it. the issue is with those people having access to the tickets in the first place not the people willing to pay for the access and whilst it's a bit different for home games, its the same principle.

day trippers shouldn't be vilified, we need them to be at the level we are at, there isn't a big enough local support on the planet for any elite club to survive on.

You want success, you have to accept the daytrippers, there's not one without the other. Our problem is the balance, Soriano and co. Have leaned too far into the tourist side and it's rightly going to cause anger and deserves pushing back on but the target has to be the people in charge not the new fans they're courting.

there's no harm in mocking some of their more annoying antics like filming an entire game but there's a line and shit like this is way beyond it.

I think the OP was complaining about day trippers in general, rather than people being obviously day trippers (She's a influencer which is where he got the picture from i believe).

Nobody really genuinely likes an echo chamber and the misfits that moved to bluesky and said that they have gone there and deleted Twitter are either liars or deluded.

Going to lock this because I'm not sure this is a real issue.

There are racist and xenophobic City fans who are latching onto the protests. That is undeniable.

Most City fans in the ground and social media vehemently (and sometimes violently) rally against this.

Yes, we probably need a discussion on language used because the twats take this as a "Local People for Local things" Royston Vasey thing but most of us don't and I don't see how giving the voices to these minority people, some (but not) of which are racist helps the conversation.

We need to think about our goals and we need to think about it might affect others. I am certain of this. But we have a lot of threads discussing this, a lot of input and spreading it over 15 threads that most wont read isn't going to help.

We know who we're protesting and if some don't then perhaps threads can help. Nobody cares if someone comes from the US to achieve a 30 year dream and pays £71 quid. It's the people who get their haircut and are there "just to watch footy" that are the problem. This isn't race or national. It's authentic vs Disney. We dont want to be Disney.
