I don't go on 'X'. Only went on now because of this news to see his statement on his own account. Reminded myself why I don't bother with social media apart from this forum when scrolling through the comments. Dippers, Arse fans etc piping up with the most ridiculous of statements. One even claiming Curtis Jones is better than him!! You'd think just for 5 minutes they'd cast rivalry aside and acknowledge one of/if not THE greatest players to grace the Premier League. I remember a few months a go when Joe Cole said he was above all three of Gerrard, Scholes and Lampard and he's played with them all. That's all the validation I need. Thought Vinny and Sergio leaving was a huge downer, but this really is a sickener. Irreplaceable.

Not enough goals against the rags…. Let’s go Sunday Kev!!

Some absolute belters in there

The bit in his statement about his kids having Manchester in Their passports choked me up.
Hes given us 10 years of his life, made his family here. Yeah hes been extremely well paid but i bet hes had plenty of mega offers over the years but he stayed put at OUR club.
KDB has been a blue for a fifth of my life.

Best ever. Not an easy statement to make when you consider whos played for us but i dont think we’ll see his likes again

Equally, we’ve given him the opportunity to work at the best ran club behind the scenes that there is. I remember doing the tour years ago and the guy said there’s nothing the players want for (see Gundo realising that when he went to Barca). We’ve give Kev, and all these players, the chance to win it all. It definitely goes both ways.

Already rubbished it. Can't afford him.

Kev has a £50m signing offer and £1m a week from Saudi on the table.

Another is from the CFG. To go to New York.

He's now thinking of his family and would like to play at the next World Cup.
I’d like to think he goes to NY City and stays within our group.

I am a 78 year old woman and have supported City since I was 9 years old. I don't live in Manchester and never have but this team captured me in the 1956 Cup Final. When I lived in London I became a season ticket holder and over years have seen all the greats. I sadly can no longer afford a season ticket.
Kevin is best I have ever seen in our glorious blue shirt. He is the type of player who takes your breathe away.
I played for QPR women's team back in the 70's and recently, we as a team, were invited to the Football Museum in Manchester and I mentioned that I had followed City all my life and that Kevin was my all time favourite.
Someone must have said something to the club because I recieved a video message from Kevin.
I will always be grateful he took the time to do that. He will never know what that means to me.
Wherever you go Kevin, I wish you nothing but the best. We will never see your like again but I am so happy I was around to see you in City Blue. Thank you. Now win that cup.
Fabulous story, thank you for sharing, it brought a tear to my eye.

Sad news but time moves on. What a great servant to our wonderful football club. Arguably our greatest ever player. Thanks for everything Kev.

Gutted but appreciate that this is probably the right time.

He's without a doubt in the conversation about our greatest ever player.

He's put in some absolutely fantastic performances in a blue shirt and I'm proper grateful to have witnessed the majority of them live, in the flesh.
