YouTube-does-something-right shocker!

Now to get rid of all the scamming ads they allow!

How people can't tell the AI 'trailers' aren't fake, I do not know.

You’d be surprised, A lot of people don’t even know fake trailers are a thing to know to look out for them. And that’s not just non techies. I still talk to loads of game devs and even some of those were surprised fake trailers were a thing.

A highly technical mate of mine ( been developing software since the 70’s and is currently studying AI ) shared a fake Fantastic 4 trailer before the real one came out saying it looked a bit shit.

That's really interesting.

I think what's helped me realise is that being a massive film buff, you tend know the types of celluloid used to produce film quality as well as knowing content used in previous films.

The first time I saw an AI, I got caught out because it was unexpected and then I realised I'd seen scenes before (I think it was a Tom Holland 'trailer'). After that, I could spot them.

Anyway, quick reply as I'm working. Have my 'Adolescence' response I've still not worked on, I've been so busy! LOL!

Now the last few films have been poor but this seems to have gone down the cobra kai inspiration for tone,,if so may be worth a look

I think thats exactly it, once you get caught out you spot them easier. its just that 1st step of even knowing they are a thing.

Does the sneak peek help your decisions...?

Looks more of the superman I grew up with the silver age superman.

It, from that clip is comic accurate (as was most of snyders injustice influenced take tbf) and more a return to 80s movies and less moody CGI shite

I cant help but feel this is a massive gamble on Gunn's part. While I like the fact its harking back to the silver age, there wont be that many out there that know it well. I mean I love superman and idolised Christopher Reeve's as a child but even I only have a cursory knowledge of the silver age stuff. outside of Titans I cant remember the last time I saw Kryto referenced.

Feels like its going to appeal to over 50's men who know the silver age source better, some children who don't know either way and uber comic nerds. the general public will have no clue.

At this point I just have to trust James Gunn, and there've very little he's done i've not liked.

This is an interesting take. It's not inaccurate when you think of the latest renditions of an (almost) deconstructed 'Superman' realising his deity-like status on Earth.

I remember watching the George Reeves re-run versions of 'The Boy Scout' well into the mid 80's, so I understand the need to go back to that period of 'pure hearted goodness'. But Gunn's whole world purview is tinged with seeing a darkness in the character he writes about, so it will be really interesting to see where this comes out.

Maybe this might have inverted elements of what Synder created. Who knows?

Oh yeah initially it made me smile but until we watch it judge it we won't know and we all know the people who grew up with the original naked gun will always find it hard to think something like this is better!

I think what got me is some of the more blatant railings against modern societal takes, a little pop culture and homage to the original stuff.

I didn't laugh, non-stop, at the original "Naked Gun" films, so I think it's a decent start.
