Possibly the most underwhelming Derby for a few years.

I don’t think it's just us but I sense a general malaise across football.

The fucking suits telling us what we want but we want none of what they force on us.

They are making football shit!

All about standards. Going on the piss before a cup final is never acceptable. Am sure even the players would agree
Did many people on here see them out on the town?
Not trying to be funny, but I've seen so many conflicting reports.
I wasn't on this chat then - were any photos of them posted?

This is actually true, the only one that comes close to getting in would be Bruno - they'd be relegation material if it wasn't for him last few years.

anyway, 3-0 City and a United sending off.
Earlier on this season even the rags were calling for him to be dropped because his performances were so bad, now suddenly after a few decent performances, as usual all against lesser sides, he's being talked about as one of the best PL midfielders ever.

Wouldn’t be anywhere near ever - just think he’s carried Man Utd for many years now.

Yes. Several players were pictured in the media out until 5am the Monday morning before the cup final. Am sure it had no impact on their performance……

Could have waited in my view, but there you go

Ok - unprofessional and stupid to even risk being caught in that situation, but debatable whether it contributed to the crap performance.
We'll never know, but obviously not a good look, agreed.

Don't agree that a result is that vital. I went through the remaining fixtures of the other contenders in the top 4 thread yesterday. They've all got significantly more difficult games on paper than us. Nearly all of them play at least 1 of the top 2/3 and also play each other meaning dropped points is inevitable.

We also have to factor in the fact were in a lower quality race this season, we don't need title winning form where we win every single game because that's not our level. we're getting comfortably below 2 points a game as an average, we've got 8 games left, win our very winnable 4 home games and beat southampton away and that alone is more than the current average ppg we've got and will almost certainly see us secure a CL place.

Purely in terms of the points and ignoring the derby aspect, it's not even close to a must win game and a draw would be a respectable point. Naturally I hope we twat them but we were stronger and they were weaker in the reverse fixture and we still fucked it up.

Well I'm not saying we need to win them all. We agree on that. This one, though, we should be winning. United are poor. Really poor. I genuinely believe that without their one good player, they would be in dire trouble, closer to the relegation zone. As a matter of fact I think there are lower placed teams who, in this second half of the season, are more convincing (Everton will not be a gimme, far from it. Villa I'm not sure about — they're weirdos).
The reverse fixture? In my opinion, at the time of the reverse fixture, we were at rock bottom as far as mental fragility is concerned. The capitulations against Feyenoord and, a bit more than fifteen days later, this lot, were nothing less than shocking. They were abysmal. That period of the season, for about four weeks, was the pits. We've been slowly better since then, a little bit of steel has come back into the team, Khusa's helped, so has Marmoush.
No, really, we should be seeing these off.

I don't disagree that we should win. We should beat almost every team in the league in all honesty especially one that's 13th but they're going to play to our weaknesses. They're fine sitting in deep, conceding space out wide and then look to hit fast on counters. We've struggled against that badly and whilst they're incredibly shit, that threat remains.

We should win, we should expect to win but I wouldn't be surprised at all if we don't and a point would be a useful result in the context of achieving our remaining aims for thr season.

I kinda have a feeling we might start with foden as a false 9, something like
Eddy
Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, Nico
Nico, Bernie
Sav, Kev, Marmoush
Foden

Feel like it could work really well, especially for Marmoush, allowing foden to do the play in the middle and allowing him to just run off him.

They probs wouldn't stick as much to the positions as the lineup, for example I would expect Marmoush to come inside more and Nico to push up and create that width.
