I'd love someone to ask the twat a question on this. By Trump's calculations they've halved their tariff.
 
I can see what Trump is trying to do and it for sure would have long term benefits for the U.S.. The funny thing is, I am pretty sure 90% of his supporters have no idea that they are the ones that are going to be suffering the cost of the tariffs. It is not the foreign countries. I mean, putting tariffs on your supply line for diamonds is just hysterically funny :D In the modern world, nobody has patience for what Trump is trying to pull off.

Correct, what he wants out of this is the governments and corporations to come begging for him to reverse his policy. And he will for a price.

It's a policy of cause massive economic damage and then scale back once some personal leverage can be obtained.

Its an ego trip for him for a start. He likes the idea of world leaders coming to him with appeals. Secondly he was elected by the fucktards over there on a mandate of America First, with no coherent explanation of what that was. And third, he owes the billionaires and oligarchs who funded him. I keep asking myself the same thing. The simplistic take is he is shorting the markets so he and his ring-lickers can invest and then make a killing when they boom once more; but the more cynical take is he's doing it just to fuck around with people, because he's a total ****. He'll be enjoying every minute of this.

Its both. He isnt interested in leadership he is simply making money. For himself and for his backers

Let me offer a different take.

He’s the most important person in the world in his mind.

As such, what he says and wants should be what all do.

And because he doesn’t give a single flying fuck about the consequences of his actions on others, only on him, and there aren’t any on him, because he’s never been held accountable for the bad he has done to others by anyone, we get . . . this.

It is his attempt to do what Superman did in the first movie by turning back time — a time when America was tops at everything and needed no one. Never mind that that time never existed.

Marry all that with him also being in charge of the mechanics of the Wayback machine via the executive order, and him being none too bright, and having no one near him to wave off his impulses.
