President Trump

It really is hard to imagine how this will all pan out. I worked in sales for a while in England many years ago and it was no different to the general level of as long as I’m ok everyone can fuck off or work harder mentality that we continue to see.
I feel very lucky that I don’t have such insecurities in my life, getting away from any corporate influence in my life and work, whilst presenting many other challenges did free me from such
When I see a guy I know who has an engineering degree and way more money than I do acting like and saying that he’s put upon by “libtards” and posts three times a day on FB not about his wonderful kids or the heliski trips he can afford but about how “Cameltoe and Sleepy Joe” are still destroying America . . . I know the biggest problem isn’t how globalism has screwed the poor. There are millions like him.

He probably did very well the last four years under that disastrous Leftist agenda!

Almost assuredly.

It’s not any different than it’s ever been: this is a cult leader leading a cult of hopeless, now un-saveable souls. But the new problem — as this situation demonstrates —is that his ENTIRE advisory team is made up of cultists, or people so craven they will do anything (literally) not to lose his favo(u)r by contradicting him. So there will be no one to say no. That wasn’t the case last time. He made sure it was this time (as I have pointed out repeatedly). There will be no negative consequences for him, and no one to challenge him.

This is only the beginning.

God help us all — and I mean everyone, not just Americans.

Indeed, this time is way worse

All I’m saying is that globalism demands a conversation. We’re seeing record corporations doing well but are the poorest Americans or the poorest in the UK benefitting from it? Is that wealth being concentrating into America or is it disappearing into tax havens?

I draw parallels to Brexit here because this touches upon why people voted for Brexit. The perception is that lucrative jobs are being taken elsewhere abroad in the name of faceless global corporations. Those people are then being left on the scrap heap with nothing.

At the end of the day the stock market is down and the US economy will be down but either way will the poorest Americans care enough to really give a shit? Probably not, beyond some inflation it probably won’t really affect them and otherwise they’ll cheer on anything that gives the establishment a kicking and they’ll then probably still vote for Trump next time.

Dems gave them jobs and healthcare and trade, but they couldn't resist Trump.. could they?

Just for a white only country. It's that simple.

But ofcourse that doesn't work for most intellectuals and educated people. Hell if you get right down to it.. only about 3 million Americans even have masters degrees.

How many can read a balance sheet of a company? 10 million?

But how many buy into the white only country idea? 80 mil!

Alternatively - the U.S. has portrayed China as being the source of all that is bad in the world, when in reality this peaceful nation has been producing cheap products for the 'Western World'.
It has been in tbe U.S.A's interests to portray the Chinese as warmongering, uneducated and semi savage commies to largely deter other nations from doing business with them, so that they can keep most of the pie.
Yes, and it's more than that. Many Americans seems quite enjoy the "China bad" narrative. It's a mixture of racism and cold war ideology, and "freedom and democracy always win", the pleasure of victory.(AMERICA IS WINNING) It's like a popular culture product.
And the result is, sometimes i watched some youtubers China travel vlog, just some daily life in China, nothing special. But there are always some comments like "are you paid by ccp?"
I hope one day things will get better. But I don't know, never underestimate the "western media". They are too strong, too powerful.

Haha, you might want to check on your numbers there

Hopefully the words and actions of ordinary people will prevail.
I have spent a lot of time in China over the years and quite like the fact that my 'Big Brother' is watching out for me and keeping the streets safe for all.

Apparently, what is going on now is the fault of 'the wokes'.
You see, there is always someone else to blame, and it is a powerful message.
It is never, ever you and the decisions you made about who to vote for.
It is always the fault of others - the boats, the dems, the lefties, the libtards, the snowflakes, the radicals, the anarchists, ANTIFA, et al.
And here's the man on the very white charger who will speak up for you, those whose beliefs and wallets have been taken from them and silenced and stolen. It is the only way to bring what you once had back.
He will take back the narrative and give you your voice. He will silence the opposition once and for all, for this is the land of the free and you must be allowed to speak freely and believe what you believe.
The silenced voices are not you, they are not America.
Beware the rise of the dictator.

But from a voting perspective it clearly is worthy of importance. An anti-establishment, anti-globalist message is a hallmark of the populist right. That same message is spreading throughout Europe.

Why is Trump president for the 2nd time? Why did Brexit happen? Why is Reform currently leading the UK polls?

I don’t subscribe to the narrative that all of the above can be answered by stupidity alone. It would mean that 15-20m people are seemingly outright stupid in the UK.

That would be 70m+ in the US, over 1 in 5!
A social media led narrative of natives good, foreigners bad, is the common denominator in each event you described. They arent coincidences, the campaigns for each followed the same model.

Anyone think that he and his wannabe trillionaire buddies are buying low now he's crashed it, he'll backtrack and the market will rise, and the trump gang will cash in. Kerching
It has to be that doesn't it.....doesn't it? It's the only reason I have for sitting tight rather than taking the loss a month ago on my ISA :/

I can see what Trump is trying to do and it for sure would have long term benefits for the U.S.. The funny thing is, I am pretty sure 90% of his supporters have no idea that they are the ones that are going to be suffering the cost of the tariffs. It is not the foreign countries. I mean, putting tariffs on your supply line for diamonds is just hysterically funny :D In the modern world, nobody has patience for what Trump is trying to pull off.
What are these long term benefits?

I guess the hope is that the US economy is pretty much self sufficient with most raw materials being produced within the country or within the places it uses it's military power to seize.

But with other countries having to purchase US goods because they would not be able to survive with out doing so.

Like say Canada having lots of oil and trees. If they were to sell those to Europe instead of the US then it'd be bad for the US so best to take them over.

But what about all the surplus goods made in the US? They can sell those to the world but at a premium because they have shiny stars and banners. Plus the rest of the world will be weak from dealing with wars that the US helps create.
