Massive (pardon the use of that word) difference between a shit season and playing shit football. I can take never winning the league again, done it now and never thought I'd see it, what I do want is some semblence of entertainment and this dire shit we are being served up week in week out isn't entertaining imo.
Good point. The football is dire.

So who do you play...Gonzales cant cover 3 players.....

Savihno aint the answer at present...he is skillful and a good player but he aint exactly ripping up trees...we only notice him as the rest of the team are so poor...he aint even close to how good Sane was for instance in his first season....or sterling
Look what happened when Doku came on...they got more chances on that side of the pitch than the rest of the game.

So if we aint playing KDB, GUndo Kova and Bernardo who do we play

what is your midfield for that game

Mine would have been:

GK
Back 4 (the only change here is I would have played Khusonov at right back )
Nico Bernardo

Marmoush

But after that we are starting to look at 3 groups of players....
1. KDB, Gundo, Kova - everyone knows they aint good enough anymore
or
2. Sav, Doku and Grealish -the first two are ok but are high risk players who so far we are being generous about with their overall contribution..Grealish has been shit for 18 months - people still believing he is the answer are just blind and are unable to admit the club made a mistake in buying him
3. foden - clearly has issues and aint playing well

So who?
I’d pick the future not the past

Questions for Pep
1) Why did you not play Nico?
2) Why did you not play Khusinov?
3) Was it wise to play Gundo 3 games in a row?
4) The Uncs were sticking the place out why didn’t you see that and make changes?
5) Did it make sense to take Nico O off who was having a good game?
6) Why put Rico at LB totally out of position?
agree with all except Nico O. the amount of times he gave the ball away or was tackled was awful. ( but not really any worse than KDB )

Second half was a bit better, it couldn't have been worse, but the first half was diabolical. It was an awful advert for the Premier League. A derby? Felt more like a pre-season knock about.

I'm not and probably will never be Haaland's biggest fan (I like my number 9's to be more complete) but with him in the side we edge it today.

He isn’t going to change a system that has been so successful.

It’ll be same system next season with 6/7 new heads.

Anyone expecting anything else is going to be very disappointed.
Quite possibly. If he’s still here.

But is it realistic to think that we’ll get sufficient talent in or - more importantly - that it’s simply a case of improving the squad and leaving the system unchanged? Personally, I think there’s a stronger argument to modernise and refresh the system, and then recruit round pegs into round holes.

No way can I see us being stuffed again with the calibre of players we’ve enjoyed in the recent past: Merlin, Yaya, Aguero, Kompany, Fernandinho, peak KdB, peak Gundo, peak Bernardo, peak Walker, peak Foden, pre-injury Rodri and so on. 4 or 5 of their peers and we’ll be doing well. A virtual team full? No way.

Don’t get me wrong. Some of our younger players have serious potential so I’m not being unduly pessimistic. I’m just not expecting a return to former glories next season under Pep or anybody else.

Most disappointing thing for me today is that I believe any City team in the last 10 years, apart from today’s, would have beaten that rag team. We’re in a real slump.

It's not entitlement imho.
I don't want Pep gone - but, for whatever reason, since October he's gone missing.
The guy used to be ruthless, what we seem to be seeing currently is based purely on sentiment. Today's line-up was criminal, and lacked awareness of the fact the team we were playing is utter toss these days. We never looked like going for the jugular
It’s now 5 games since we beat this shower of shit outright. We’ve had our foot on the jugular so many times, only to let them off.
The thought of these twats getting in the CL through the backdoor, and us finishing outside of it makes me feel ill.

That wasn't a great watch, but i actually think the reverse fixture back in December was worse (in play and in result).

I think Dias was ok, o'Reilly had a good 1st half, Marmoush was the only lively spark up top and Silva's work rate was good. Nunes was alright too .

Wayyyy to many times this season does an opposition player win the tackle against 2 or 3 City players, and it happened multiple times today. I honestly think we're on a light tackle instruction sometimes.

Well it's 2 clean sheets in a row! Let's move on.

One of the more irritating aspects of Pep's character is his belief that he is always right in relation to what a player should be capable of. I'm afraid it started and ended with Phillip Lahm when he converted him into a full-back from being a mid-fielder. We have had to watch a central defender being forced to play fullback, midfielders forced to play as wingers or fullbacks and today a striker being asked to play on the wing. In all instances despite the team's success they have not worked.

Why?
Hes repeated mistakes all season and lets face it , the signs were there last season.

What did you think when you saw the geriatric 4 in midfield?

Honestly, nobody is owed anything in football

So you get rid of Pep. Who you going to appoint. Easy to keep criticising.

Nico was poor today and deserved to be subbed. He was caught out of position about 15 times.

Pep has made some baffling decisions this season for sure line up today was shocking waited to long at times this season to bring on a sub. But then again he’s the greatest we’ve had won us a treble and 4 in a row if anyone deserves an off season it’s him

We are shit. We will stay shit while we have this group of players. Nunes Kovacic shouldn’t have been bought let alone now be starters. The old guard is literally too old. Foden isn’t trying. Doku ain’t good enough. Savio not sure. Marmoush Khusanov Gvardiol maybe have potential to get to level of our former players. We used to have players that were so good you’d struggle to say who would get in our squad from other top sides. Now none of our players bar Haaland start for another top side.
