He may neve have another season quite like the previous one. But do fully expect him to be considerably better. For our sake, he has to be.

It's nothing to do with our sake. Players come, players go, and like everyone else, he is replaceable.

There's far too much 'local lad' sentiment around Phil Foden. This is elite football. If he's not cutting the mustard, he's a passenger.

It's the first time he's being questioned though. It's madness for anyone to write him off suddenly because of a poor year, even more so when the whole team fell of a cliff.

I don't know what's wrong with and you don't know what's wrong with him you also don't know if his hearts not in it.

Having worked in management roles for over 20 years, I've learned how to spot someone whose heart isn't really in it, or who has a poor attitude.

Phil Foden falls into one or the other bracket imo. His problem definitely isn’t form.

If we can get what was paid for Grealish, think it would be good.
These comments are actually disgraceful.

IT'S HIS HIS FIRST BAD SEASON IN SEVEN.

In a season where everyone has been awful. He's coming off a POTY season, and you're talking about selling him?!

I see it entirely differently. He worked hard today. The chance that fell to him that he fucked up is entirely down to form. How is that seen any differently?

You're talking about one chance, conveniently overlooking the fact that he's spent 90% of most games this season hiding or wandering around looking disinterested.

Virtually everyone else has an excuse to be poor - half our team are clearly physically past it, not good enough or still very young. The most pressure this season is on Foden because he's approaching his physical and footballing prime and the expectation is that he would drag this team for the next years - he's embarrassingly failed to.

How do you have a stadium chanting that your mums a slag then drop a 0/10 performance
Sensitive lad, who's struggling at the moment, would be my guess.
It's fairly obvious something isn't right in his world, right now.
Mind you, no matter how things turn out for him, he'll have given more to this club, than the dumb cunts calling him on here.

What do you think is the reason for his bad season
- is he injured
- or sick
- or he is trying really hard on the field but is unlucky
- or he is not enjoying his time at the club
?

It is certainly not his age.

As a manager you obviously haven’t learned enough about the contributory facts about a persons change in attitude or someone ‘whose heart isn’t really in it’.

Foden has had a really awful season which began in the Euros….and there are times this season when either Grealish or McAtee could or should have started instead of him.

However ( as I’m sure you you have been taught on one of your Managerial courses) you don’t just give up on someone…..you try and help that person deal with the issues that are causing them to underperform.

Foden is far too talented a player to not return to being one of the best attacking midfielders in the country and this is from someone who has been very frustrated with his form for the last 10 months or so.

It can’t have helped Foden that he is now playing in probably the worst City team for about 15 years and to ‘write his City career off’ after one bad season is ludicrous.

I’m definitely glad I didn’t have you as my manager !

1. City would take a big offer. Business is business.

2. His peak value was last season. It's all downhill from now if he doesn't improve his game. On today's performance, I'd even swap him for Bruno Fernandes.

3. Pep knows very well that most are past their best. It's his and Txiki's fault due to dreadful succession planning over the last couple of years (at least). I wouldn't be at all surprised if he quits at the end of this season if we win the FA Cup.
There is no big offer and never will be, no club in the world would put an offer in for him and you can take that two ways.

I don't think either is the case. I just see a player who needs a fully performing team to fully function, and someone who at the moment is bereft of confidence. He had a poor Euros, not helped by Southgate, was injured at the beginning of the season and then came back into what's been a very ordinary Man City side. A summer without International football will do him the world of good.
