They counter attacked us regardless of our slow build up play. Gundo and Kovacic losing the ball in dangerous areas was always going to happen. With Doku starting we would probably have caused them more problems.Arsenal played that Utd set-up recently in the FA Cup and league and couldn't beat them. Liverpool also failed.
Breaking down such a defensive set-up minus Haaland was never going to be easy for us. Sadly this is where we are at the moment because we didn't replace our aging players, and because we've been cursed by injuries.
What team selection would you have made? We could have opened up with wingers but our wingers minus Haaland would have likely made us easier to counterattack. I think our wingers are very effective at beating a man but we don't get many assists from them. There isn't anything obvious we can do. We are a side in transition waiting for Rodri, Haaland to recover. Bobb and Echeverri probably lack the match fitness and experience to play at this moment. Bobb might play vs Palace in a forward like with Marmoush and Savinho. It's asking a lot to gel.

Yeah as fans of course we can question his decisions...and of course he knows vastly more than us all put together.So refreshing to see a couple of your posts . The drop off has been stark this season and it’s been coming with the culmination of success year after year. We were always going to hit the buffers at some point and this is it. I wouldn’t swap Pep for anyone , he’ll be aware more than ever of our pitfalls. On the surface we have the right to question some of his decisions but we know there is a method in his madness .Us fans need to have a bit of patience as this is no easy fix and the overhaul might take a couple of years to fix but I’m sure we he will leave us in good shape regardless of him being here or not .
