The Chants Against Foden's Mum

Just seen on muen online.
Foden supported by teams after sick chants.
Fucking hell football really is becoming a joke
The chant is mild compared to some. It is just that though, a chant. The image of little Foden being supported by team mates, consoled if you will, is laughable and literally don’t happen

Soft as fuck.

We’ve been mentally weak as a team for some time, Barry rarely put in a good performance against Villa being booed relentlessly, Sterling would be subbed off after getting dogs abuse from Liverpool,
We get a penalty and allow the opposition to trample all over the penalty spot, while the gk is in Haalands ear, and now this nonsense with Foden.

Piss poor!

To me fetching a player's family into it is a step too far.

Exactly my position. Chant what you like against an opposition player (firmly against racist or homophobic chanting, myself, although I'm going to be honest, when I was a kid on the Kippax, I joined in like everyone else — times change), but not family. The player can answer — out on the pitch. And if he's made of anything stern, he will. A family member can't answer back in any way, shape, manner or form. It's one step too far, in my view.
That said, you're not going to stop groups of fans from doing it. We've been criticised for the “Always the victims, never your fault” directed at LFC fans. Sorry, but I think they're absolutely fair game for it. And it is not in any way diminishing what happened at Hillsborough.

I do wonder if either Beckham/Posh or the other rag players laughed at that.

Although not desperately distasteful if was also quite funny....doubt they enjoyed the up the arse song though.
Ali G once asked her and beckham about that on telly. ‘Iz it true?’

She laughed and that’s a yes for me.

I think it's the media that's made a big issue about it and made everyone aware. No surprises there then as they're just shit stirring as usual. It's the rag manager they should have asked about it as it was his fans who sang it. Just turned the football show on now and they've just mentioned it again.

I'll add what I said in an earlier post. The majority of fans who've been going to games for twenty years and more will have sung and heard things equally as bad. I remember being in the Kippax when headlines broke Stan Bowles wife had left him. He got shit loads of stick. "Stanley Stanley where's your wife?" Was the mild one. It morphed into "Who's up Stanley's wife, whose up Stanley's wife, every every fucking one!" He was one of our ex players as well. That was the late sixties/early seventies. It's fair to say football continued to descend into a dark place over the next few years leading to Heysel and Hillsborough. It then cleaned up it's act and on the whole it's a much more pleasant place to go now. Sure I think it's been sanitised and Disneyfied a bit too much but it's now the year 2025, over 50 years since the Stanley Bowles chants. For me chanting somebody's mother is a slag is unacceptable these days. If that makes me a wet wipe I'm happy with that.

To be fair mate you can put the it's 2025 remark alongside the fully grown man quote people often mention.

But we all have different opinions and yours is as valid as anyone else's.

I’m glad the media are highlighting it. They don’t usually where chants are concerned. Let them highlight what a classless set of cunts they are.

Not sure why Pep needed to put attention to it. Whether Foden got affected by it or not, he certainly made sure every fanbase around the country will try to get it going now.

Weird decisions on and off the pitch at the minute
