The Chants Against Foden's Mum

If any rags or the club itself are brought to book for these chants I hope the feral dipper scum who’ve previously chanted it at Phil are also prosecuted.

Unless of course in that instance they were the victims and it wasn’t their fault

Sorry but the best way Foden can respond to this is on the pitch....If he is bothered by home fans chanting a bit of shit about his mum then he needs to toughen up.
If they were trying to put him off his A game they were about 9 months too late

I hate this Snowflake culture we now live in. The media and their rimming of anything LFcult hasn't helped. We have sung shit about tons of rags for as long as I can remember.

It’s not a snowflake culture, it’s social media and forums that heighten everything out of proportion. Imagine if a Manager said this in a press conference in the 90’s, you may mention it down the pub with a couple of others but that’s about it and would be forgotten pretty quick , now it’s endless polarised debates about pretty much everything nowadays.

I always thought the rent boy chant stemmed from the police operation against the Headhunters after 2 of their lads were in bed together when the police did an early morning knock on the door ? ,could be wrong of course .

I thought it was due to the previous proliferation of male prostitutes around the Earls Court area. So a friend tells me *cough.

Personally I’ve never had a problem with slagging off a club, a fanbase or a player directly when it’s to do with football when chanting from the stands and think it’s part and parcel of the game and the experience

When it gets personal or about the family, I don’t mind it when it’s done in a funny way but when it’s just straight out abusive, I’ve never really cared for it.

Plenty of people don’t mind that though and I get it completely. It’s part of the pantomime nature of the game. The issue is some either doing or receiving it don’t see it in that pantomime nature, they either mean it or feel it too much.

It isn’t going to stop though. Felt a bit for Pep being asked publicly the question about it as it was a no win situation for him.

IMHO this is going to get a lot worse because it has been highlighted, every game Phil plays the away support and visitors are going to go for his weak spot.

Yeah I completely agree, was annoyed Pep was asked the question as like I said, I think it’s a no win situation. Say something and it gets highlighted, say nothing and he’s not protecting his player.

Me and my mate since our teens - we're both season ticket holders - went to see Pink Floyd's The Wall at Earl's Court in 1980 and 1981. After the 1980 gig, we went to a pub opposite the venue. Needless to say, we spent about ten seconds in the pub.........

There was a worse one than that though.
Not saying there weren’t mate, just saying that questionably acceptable chants have always been around.

To your point, the one about Park (I think the rags used to sing) was worse by a country mile

It doesn't really matter where it came from. Saying it's homophobic because it references homosexual prostitutes is a nonsense. Chelsea fans need to grow a pair.

Oops.

Most of the offence taken seems to be on behalf of rather than the target, makes you wonder if inch by inch language police are stretching meanings so that in the end we end up with a sterile frustrated society unwilling or unable to fight any government who demands subservience.

It's part of his job to field moronic questions and give non-committal answers, lie if he has to. He got this wrong, probably because he has no idea of fan culture here. By all means, give Foden all the help he needs (if any, which I doubt) behind the scenes but say in public that it didn't affect him at all.

These hacks are simply looking for clickbait headlines, watch Peps presser it’s the same every prematch.

“Next” his is best answer…

Until they end up voting for someone like Trump.
