He’s an inverted full back that works well when the system works to negate the attacking threat of the opposition, rather than requiring our defenders to do it individually.

He's a good lad, but simply not a top level footballer.

I do not understand why he's receiving all the blame for the first. Eze is about ten yards offside and out of the frame when the original pass from Munoz to Sarr. Lewis is playing the offside line perfectly, but the pass and run were better. Regardless, not even a prime Walker could have made up the amount of space that Eze already had on Lewis, who we know isn't the fastest.

I'm not saying Lewis isn't at all to blame, but there's blame to go around, and the amount of scapegoating that goes through Lewis makes me feel like I have to make posts like this.

No, it wasn't luck at all, as it wasn't a handball by any rule book.

That was a penalty against him, and he was fortunate that it wasn't given. One of my main concerns with him is that during transitions against us, he tends to jog back without any sense of urgency. This might be due to a lack of pace, but he often doesn’t even look like he cares or is trying hard to get back and this happens far too often with him.
