I want the 3 points, but I was surprised we got 3 yesterday - especially after going 2-0 down. I regard Palace as a bogey team for us, so after yesterday I'll settle for a point. Villa v Newcastle same day so something's got to give there, and Forest away at Spurs on Monday, which won't be easy for them - they're might be dipping, at last.

Seen that referenced several times yesterday. Just had a look; out of the last 30 games in all competitions, they've beaten us 3 times....

Moyes has made Everton a really difficult team to beat since he has arrived, It's going to be a tough game for us.

A draw wouldn't be the worst result, Hopefully we can do enough to get a massive all three points.

Ortega

Nunes
Dias
Gvardiol
O'Reilly

Nico Gonzalez
Kovavic
De Bruyne

Savinho
Doku
Marmoush
What did Rico do wrong yesterday?

Why would you swap him for Nunes.

Play your team and we get well beaten.

I'd probably have Grealish in front of Lewis because he will cover and track back.

He would be the only outfield player change for me, Grealish in for Mcatee.

Gonna miss woodison one of my favourite away grounds.

Anyway despite the result I wouldn't keep the sale 11 as yesrerday, one Kev inspired comeback doesn't change a seaso where that midfield has been laboured so a bit more pace on the right and grealish to come in for older legs, McAtee earned another start

Ortega
Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Rielly
Gonzalez,
Savio, McAtee, De Bruyne, Grealish
Marmoush
For me the left-hand side is a problem. The options are Bernie, Grealish or Doku. Grealish is the ideal closer, he will slow the game down with his shithousery but contribute little and then you have Doku who creates all kinds of chaos but has hardly any end product. Bernie has sadly lost his pace but can offer a cutting edge pass and plenty of work rate. At a pinch I'd probably go with Doku and close with Grealish. The other option is to bring on Bobb for some munutes and see if he can create some magic.

Not having a clue Eze was behind him for the opening goal, Eze got the run on him for a tap in.

Eze (thankfully) offside goal, Rico nowhere to be seen.

Numerous times caught out of position some of which in the second half which Crystal Palace didn't capitalise.

He was decent on the ball yesterday but his awareness of what's going on around him has been pretty poor this season.

I'm not a fan if Nunes but to be fair he's done OK in the right back position, He has recovery pace something which we are lacking in the back four in general.

The brutal truth is we don't have a good option at right back. Lewis and Nunes have fucked up on numerous occasions this season. Big fuck ups, as well.
This is THE area we need to get right in the summer.
These two players are not right backs, tbf. But the mistakes they are making are concentration based, not positional. And there's no excuse for that.

What did he do wrong. Fell asleep for the first goal and Eze scored. Then did the same for what would have been the 3rd goal if Eze hadn’t stupidly got himself offside. He is an absolutely shocking defender. Nowhere near good enough for us.

Yeah, giving the game to the Scum, being caught out numerous times. I'd go as far, and have, as to say I want Nunes nowhere near this club and never had ever since he refused to play again for Wolves if he couldn't get his move, shithouse. Lewis any day for me.

Agreed.

The fact of the matter is that Lewis and Nunes aren't good enough to play in the right back position.

Hopefully we get a quality right back signed in the summer transfer window.

Everton on a run, at least we're at home. Nice of them to beat Forest, hope they crumble before the FA Cup semi. Think we'll do Everton if we play like second half yesterday

Nunes has cost us in games too this season and we are in need of a right back which obviously can't happen until the summer.

Personally I'd love see Khusanov at right back for the remainder of the season but he hasn't played there since the Madrid game so doubt he'll play there again this season.

We could go on all day in this about Rico Lewis this Matheus Nunes that, Who's the best out of a bad bunch...Both of them aren't good enough.

Maybe so, but I've seen us lose against them at home, and last year they got a draw at the Etihad. Not many mid to lower table teams have done that in the last 3/4 years, so as far as I'm concerned, they were more of a bogey team than most.

I guess that's down to recency bias, more than anything factual. For me, Spurs and the dips are way more bogey teams than Palace.

It's always a tough game away to Everton, even in our prime they made it hard. Our games are impossible to call these days as we never know which players Pep will pick or what formation.
