I think we'll need to have strong defence and midfield to deal with their physicality.

I'd bring in Khusanov on the right side of a back three, with Bernardo just in front of him. Put Doku on that side too, with O'Reilly playing LWB to provide the width on the left.

I think it was more to do with our set up early on, both full back positions appeared completely exposed but a lot early doors went down our left.

A bit harsh blaming him for those 2 chances when the ball has come in unchallenged and with ease from the other side.

I believe it was the players getting used to the set up and ordinarily, we could have scored first and, we wouldn't be up against oppo' with lightning quick forwards with wide open flanks to attack.

Overall it was a bizarre game because once we started scoring we never looked back.

Reckon it was our most enjoyable game this season, I'd rather look at the positives.
I know you've stated in your post "We could have scored first" and also "I'd rather look at the positives.

You replied to a post of mine in which I put out a line up that I'd like to see personally, I hadn't mentioned anything about the Crystal Palace game in detail so this conversation is more about Rico Lewis in your first reply.

Alot of play happened before Eze out the ball in the back of the net in which some players could have done better, It still doenst take away the fact the Rico should be on front of Eze clearing the ball away or even being close enough to make it difficult for him, Numerous times he was caught out on Saturday including twice in quick succession when we were 4-2 ahead all because he was out of position again and poor awareness, I love Rico I'd love to see him succeed but the fact of the matter is his performances are going to cement him a starting place far from it.

Of course we have to take the positives from Saturday it was some of our best football we've played in a while after the KDB goal and we should look to kick on against Everton and get this top 5 place wrapped up in the coming weeks.

Can’t believe they let fatty continue to referee Premier League games. Saw him at the weekend and he clearly can’t keep up with play and it’s the reason he’s such a poor official.

Maybe right on Rico but I've seen enough of Nunes to suggest he would not do better.

I can't see Everton being as adventurous as Palace though, even with them being at home.

I'd stick with the same but take Mcatee out for Grealish.

I don't rate Nunes either, The right back position is a massive issue for us.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Khusanov start this game, Pep possibly going with a bavk three of Khusanov, Gvardiol and Dias with O'Reilly stepping into midfield in possession, All four have height as I'm sure that's how Everton will look to get some joy with set pieces as they are a big side.

I wouldn't mind Jack starting this one too he's been good when he's come on of late.

Moyes has made Everton a really difficult team to beat since he has arrived, It's going to be a tough game for us.

A draw wouldn't be the worst result, Hopefully we can do enough to get a massive all three points.

I don't think we will play wide forwards with Marmoush because Marmoush appears to be most effective coming in off the left, and he isn't strong in the air. Oscar Bobb is also an option. I think his attacking play is very strong. Before the Palace game, I was wondering how long it would take him to get his sharpness back but against Palace he produced one moment of exceptional skill that not many players can produce.

It's probably too soon for Bobb to start vs Everton, but for me he is now a strong playing asset from this moment onwards.

Thank goodness Kev is back in form. Not sure where we'd be without him right now.

Mmmmmm. I don't have blue tinted specs. I seem to remember that it took us several trips to score a goal at their new stadium; Kun missing a pen there; they hammered us 4-0 at home this season; pipped us to CL football; knocked us out of the Champs League in 2019. Anyway, each to their own bogey-teams-wise.
Not to mention the dark past and a nightmare experience in a cup final. I don't like the term bogey team but we have had a lot of bad experiences at their hands although we also hand it out to them occasionally.

Voted for a win.
We have to build on recent good performances and we must be looking at this game to get points for the top 5 race.
I think it will be deeply disappointing to the club if we don't get a result here.

Not here to defend Rico I think he still has an awful lot to learn. But I am far from sure he is being as you put it caught out of position. I think he is following instruction to wander to certain parts of the field from which it is nearly impossible to cover his full back position unless he is prime Walker with an engine up his ass. Its a tactical ploy by Pep which has its strengths and weaknesses. That said for me he is not a natural fullback when he is back and in position. Not sure where or if he has a place in the team but if he plays this role again next year we won't be winning the major awards.

He is always out of position mate, without fail. I don't hate the kid either but his positioning is awful

It is when he doesn't have the recovery pace to compensate.
He was directly responsible for the 1st goal CP had.
