He said in an interview the club didn’t offer him a contract.

Up until that point yes, things change. Until the club mentions something and they might never say anything it'll always be speculation.

The rumour is that the club didn't make him an offer because Kev wanted too much money or his contract demands were too high, we don't know the circumstances and we never will.

Nothing at all. 100% agreed. But some are going on as if what they're saying is gospel. No "in my opinion", or anything like that. Hopefully, one day, the truth will come out.
In my opinion theres no truth, no conspiracy theory, he has the opinion that hes still up to speed at this level, the club believe his performances and availability dont back up that opinion and we cant carry him, the club wins and lets be honest the man is a legend and we have been treated to some wonderful moments from him for which he was handsomely rewarded, football is a transactional relationship, he played well and was rewarded thus, he stopped playing and the rewards stopped

He might end up somewhere like Everton next season if he feels like he can stop do it in the Premier League.

I don’t think many clubs in Europe will be able to afford his wages.

I’m not sure he’s ready to retire to the MLs just yet. His skin would preclude a move to Saudi.
He could well turn up somewhere like Everton, and Everton will get the same level of performance out of him as we would . One game showing the magic, then 10 games he is off the pace, then niggling little injury and for the money invested by them he really hasn't he
lped Everton or whoever to make progress .

I suspect that your last para has more than a grain of truth in it.

there is no rumours or speculation to be had just cold hard facts we are not renewing both sides have stated no contract was offered Kev confirming this and pep saying the time was right , Kev also saying no discussion were made over a new contract.

"Whether we like it or not, it's time to say goodbye," De Bruyne wrote on social media.
And Guardiola said: "It was not easy for me to tell him it [his City career] won't continue."

There is a vidoe of him saying he wasn't offered a renewal

No speculation about it, he thinks he can still do a job, the club are not offering that, unless we suddenly make a U-turn he is gone in a few weeks.

Maybe he wasn't offered a renewal on his present deal?

Maybe the deal wasn't long enough for him?

The devil is always in the detail.

I’ve no idea what people can’t grasp with Kev leaving. He makes it fairly clear in yet another interview he gave yesterday where he is starting to sound a little sour.

With the wages he’s on he has barely shown up this season. The games against the athletic hard working team pass him by, and he is non-existent against the top teams.

Blues got excited by the Palace performance - but go back and watch any of his performances against the top teams this season and you know he’s done as an elite player.

We have big problems to sort this Summer. The highest wage bill in the country whilst needing to bring in 4 or 5 players is shambolic. Kev is the only one out of contract - anybody thinking we will get rid of Grealish Walker Bernado Nunes Phillips without paying a big chunk of their wages for loan deals is not realising the issues we will have.

KDB was the only out of contract player so it’s a no brainer that he is first gone.

He’s a legend - possibly our best ever - but no elite Euro clubs will touch him.

Just hope he doesn’t sour it with blues by getting snidey in his interviews before the end of the season.

What should have been a brilliant mutual farewell is turning bitter. I have to disagree with Kev the club have done the right thing. Even if you half his wages he is still earning more than the majority of the team. Can’t be paying that out for someone who is only gonna offer us 10/15 games a season.

Happens to us all, I remember being in my mid 40s with a dodgy right knee always being last pick a five a side and thinking to myself i’m still the best player here by a mile

When I said 'the way people make out', i did mean more than you fwiw. There has clearly been a context of that since that tweet, and I read your postcwithin that.

A touch harsh bracketing that in a response to you fair enough, but I am responding to the recent context and mood too.

My point does stand though.

What do you make of the interview he has given?

Ha - always thought we would have an issue with Kev when his times up. But that was more on a thought that he would be on the bench for a season.

He has a big ego like all great players have. But to give a sour grapes interview in the Goodson mixed zone after a performance which explained exactly why City didn’t offer a new contract seems a bit delusional.

I would guarantee Tuesdays game against Villa and Sunday in the Wembley sunshine will be more evidence that it’s the right time to part ways.

We need a replacement that will be on similar wages to him - and the sums don’t add up if we kept him as a charity case.

It’s not weird though, is it? He’s good enough RIGHT NOW, because we don’t have any other options. Obviously Pep thinks we’ll be active in the transfer market in the summer and bring in players that will be able to replace him.
Wonderfully put that.
Much as we all love the guy KDB plays currently as he's seen as the best available option - that's unlikely to be true come August once we've completed our business.

I'll be honest, I read it after my run of comments earlier. So there is more in what Some people are saying, fair enough.

Overall though, stand by my stance. Two sides to everything and I doubt the club were as unfair as is made out, whether through speculation or reading into his comments. Doubt they would have done it without the respect he deserves either.

I don't think the club were unfair I just think that no elite players is going to take the news well if it's not on their terms.
