Premier League Games | 19th-23rd April '25

I get that Sky picked these games a couple of months ago and that they expected some form of title race narrative to talk about.

But they’ve been two awful games to watch.

This season I'd have liked 4 up 4 down.
There’s actually a lot to be said for this. I’d go even further with 6 up and six down with no play offs. I think you’d get less managerial churn, some seasons would see somebody totally unexpected relegated, and the teams getting relegated wouldn’t have a huge advantage over the rest as the parachute payments could be set aside. You’d maybe get a bit more ambition in the top flight and whilst getting relegated might not be everyone’s dream, it’d have far less stigma than the current set up.

In regards to the Premier League and Championship debate. Didn't the football league reject a percentage of the PL TV rights back in 1992 to trickle down into the football league pyramid?

The football league reaped what they sowed with that rejection.

I am sure it was something like 20%.

20% of £6.7bn would have see £1.34 billion trickle down into the football league.

Not a chance will the PL teams get a 14 vote majority for that.

The way it's heading, I think the league will end up like the Bundesliga where you have 18 teams, 2 guaranteed to get relegated and promoted, the final space goes to 3rd in the Championship and they have a play off with the team that finished 16th in the PL.

That's how the Bundesliga does it.

The league will most likely be shrunk down like it was initially in the 90s.

This isn't sour grapes because we've been off it this season attacking wise but the Dippers will be the weakest PL winners for at least 8 years. Just a kick and rush side. This side would finish 3rd in any of the past couple of seasons.

Cunts.

PGMOL have contributed about 15-20 of their points this season

Not yet, scum getting too close for comfort
