Florian Wirtz

If Wirtz follows Alonso to Madrid then they will have to sell at least one big name player to finance and accommodate him. Camavinga? Valverde if TAA goes to Madrid?
It would be nice to pick someone up. I’d have Camavinga here and reports they’ll let Güler go, he could become some player.

Valverde needs to go back into midfield. A victim of his own versatility.

Had he been in the midfield against Arsenal alongside Bellingham and Tchouameni, that would have been a much superior midfield. He is one of the best midfielders in the world at what he does. A bit like what Bernardo was for us.

There is too much two and two equals 5 with the Alonso taking Wirtz with him.

I am sure Madrid would like him but they need to sort out a long term Kroos replacement, central defence and right back, and on top of that maybe even think about moving one of the front 3 on to get a striker in and a more balanced team.
They really should have bought someone like Isak instead of Mbappe. If they absolutely had to have Mbappe then move along Vini Jr

I’m glad Perez was somewhat naive as it will be easier for us to catch up.

We get said we don’t believe in our club when we say we are behind Madrid, but we are…

We where in a great moment when we got Haaland, plus the City connections.

It is not out of the question a player would choose City over Madrid, but far from the norm.

I actually think La Liga will be the most attractive offer with them and Barca over the next 5 years.

I believe regardless of Arsenals win, the standard of the Prem is less and all the rules etc. we have lost so much momentum.

For me, Madrid are the top destination, however Bayern may well be the move as similar to Haaland they will have a hook Madrid don’t. We plus maybe a couple of others are the wild card.@

He does look a talent but do we need more younger potential or ready to rock now as well have a couple of potential players already?

In your opinion, he isn't but if we buy in not in the opinion of Viana and Pep it woud seem. I can live with that. So which homegrown player do you think we should target to replace Grealish who hasn't been mostly shit either ?
My opinion in Greal8sh stands

I do think if we are in need of having to go with home grown we could go for a young keeper as third choice or Branthwaite as a centre half possibly.
Does livrramento class as HG? ...if do he would be great

I’m a fan of Branthwaite, but my issue is the price tag vs how incredibly injury-prone he is. We’d basically be signing another John Stones—great defender but an entire decade of constant injuries and unavailabilty, season after season.

We ain't getting Wirtz it will be Gibbs white and Another.
Yeah I think Simons seems a good option if we can’t get Wirtz so will be one of them.

Paqueta always an outside bet (no pun intended) if we can’t get either of those two. I’m sure that wouldn’t be popular on here but clearly a player we’ve looked at and Pep rates.

Viana could also just get someone completely unexpected.

The PL is destroying itself with these crazy financial rules.

In the next decade I could see it failing like Serie A did in the 2000 after a glorious period from the late 80s and 90s.

LaLiga must be pissing themselves.

I don't believe we let KDB go unless a world class player has given us the nod to come here.
Or the suits are freeing up Kev's salary to pay Erling's salary. I believe we are an attractive proposition for a player to learn from Pep and play in the best league in the world.

Can't see us paying 70/80 million for gibbs white. That's something like what they'll want and we won't pay it
I can’t see us paying 100 that’s for sure.

What Forest will settle for I really can’t work out. If they finish in European places they need him or a valuable replacement.

Also like Newcastle they don’t want to look weak and sell as soon as they are competing.

I still think this is basically done, like Marmoush we have probably lined this up months in advance as it’s been reported MGW was looking at houses in Worsley on Monday.

I reckon someone is going the other way and for PSR reasons it will be separate deals but basically off sets some of the cost.

I really hope you're wrong with this.
In the past I've been an advocate of requiring certain "squad" players, those happy to play wherever/whenever you need them - Gibbs-White ticks that box, but not spunking 70-100m on him.
But I can't fathom player prices these days, we paid nearly £35m for Khush which seemed dramatic at the time

I think he’s better than just a squad player. He would have been a better 8 for us this season than Gundo/Kov/Bernie/Nico but they are all having off seasons for many reason. Nico is new.

Problem is these days fees are so high whether that’s based on potential or how much the player cost previously. For instance they paid 42 for MGW and they have a sell on to Wolves as well.

We are very good at getting deals done with add ons/performance related bonuses. So with Khusanov for instance I think the initial fee is closer to 21.

Agree on Branthwaite and the concerns....could it be because he is young and still growing that he is picking up all these injuries?

Is he a better no.8 than Gundo, Kov, Bernie were though.....

We all know the answer to that already

Not currently but players grow. Look at how good Bernado became at City. Every player deserves a chance especially if we see something in them as let’s be honest we’ve got some great people running the club.

Yes some transfers haven’t worked out but that’s football, that happens everywhere.

Actually look at some players we’ve signed and how good they’ve become. I’ll always start confident and then see how a transfer works out.

There were never any question marks around Bernardo—no doubts about his talent or ability. He’s always been a magical player, a joy to watch, even during his days at Monaco. The only difference back then was his age. With time and experience, a player’s game naturally evolves—becoming more refined, more intelligent. In Bernardo’s case, he hasn’t just maintained his brilliance; he’s matured into an even more complete player. Given the kind of talent he showed at Monaco, that progression always felt inevitable.
