Looking at the Burnley v Sheffield United game I can't see anything but a real struggle next season for either of these teams if they come up.

Not sure you will. Neither side is very exciting to watch. Both extremely functional, but without much talent.

Well a quarter in and it looks like you're pretty much correct. Apparently they're being "direct" which seems to mean they lump it up the pitch and just hope something happens. Sheff Utd just had a free kick in Burnley's half and lumped it up, it beat everybody and went out of play for a goal kick. Then Burnley had a free kick in Sheff Utd's half and they over-hit two crosses and it went out for a throw-in.

The commentator just described Burnley as playing "patient football". Hospital patient, maybe. Without fail they seem to pass it 4-5 times around at the back and then try and play an impossible ball forward which 90% of the time just results in them losing it.

These guys are going to get absolutely mullered.

I remember being allowed to watch the replay of the 70 FA Cup final.
If it moves, kick it.

Fuck it; even if it doesn't move, kick it. It must be a contender for the dirtiest game played in England.

In 1997, David Elleray said that if he refereed the game to the modern interpretation of the laws, he'd have sent off six players. And Michael Oliver, in 2020, said he'd have red carded 11!

All manufactured by the Yankee doodles. No relegation for the select teams. They go up and back down again..Burnley might get help being owned by a yank.
